AMERICA – Declare God’s Worth

God alone is worthy of all praise. He is God, majestic and mighty. Like everything else, America’s days were created by Him before our nation came into being. God has a perfect plan for America, surrounded in love, detailed and intertwined through its hardworking citizens. Regardless we accept His plan or not, God is worthy of all praise.

Acceptance to the plan means obedience. Obedience may sometimes be hard, but God is very worthy because He is also very good. For every blessing God has already bestowed upon America (Can they even be counted?), we gain confidence He is faithful to do it again.

Americans should be like the prophet Jeremiah:

Speak out and clearly declare God’s worth to our nation.

AMERICA – Respect God’s Name

Just as you desire respect from others for your positive actions and achievements, God desires respect from us for all that He is. As a nation, America has a history of respecting God’s name. In fact our country was founded on God’s name.

But slowly, along America’s short path through history, our government and many private citizens have chosen to disrespect God. We’ve ignored, tossed aside, and preached outright lies on the meaning of His word.

The Lord’s third commandment proclaims we are to keep His name holy. You may be wondering, “Why is respect so important?”

Read seven reasons (of many) to help you understand the need to respect God’s name.

AMERICA – “One Nation Under God”?

The Pledge Of Allegiance, which I grew up reciting every morning in school, was first published in 1892 in a magazine titled, The Youth’s Companion. The pledge was originally composed as:

“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands; one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Over time some changes were made in the wording, the last change being made in 1954. At the suggestion of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Congress legislated that “under God” be added, making the final pledge language to read as we know it today:

AMERICA – 7 Bible Verses God Pursues Us

Yes, God does pursue us. He created us because He wants to have a relationship with us. As mankind grew in numbers and expanded well beyond the Garden of Eden, we must still remember we were not created simply to accomplish great things and personally prosper. God creates us for His glory.

God creates us to praise and rely on Him for health, protection, understanding…for all things great and small relative to our lives. He creates us because He loves us just as He loved Adam and Eve.

And just as God never hid from the two people He first created, God never hides from the nations that grew from them. The Bible tells us it was man and women who hid from God after they ate the fruit He told them not to eat. But God went looking for them:

AMERICA – 5 Verses On The Importance Of Asking God’s Forgiveness

The Bible tells us confession to God is the way to forgiveness and forgiveness means our sins are gone. Yep, the Bible tells us God not only forgives, He also forgets.

Isaiah 43:25 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

This assurance of God’s forgiveness and the additional blessing that He also forgets our sin means we walk away with a clean slate. It’s as if we never sinned. What an undeserving gift from a loving Father to individual Christians and to America as a whole. But the important idea to remember is the blessing comes when we are truthful and confess–

America Needs Jesus

Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. No one goes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.

This truth is applicable not only to mankind individually but also as a whole involving our nation. Christian citizens of American, together we can save our country. By reading and understanding God’s word, then applying His truth and principles to ourselves, our families, our social and work areas, and yes, also our government–America will be saved.

To be saved individually is to know Jesus, Matthew 1:21. To know God is to know the Image Of God, 2 Corinthians 4:4. To trust in the Lord is to know the Lord Jehovah, Isaiah 26:4. When we know Jesus our hearts desire is to live morally by His commands.

We can apply these same principles for America. If we want to overcome turmoil in Washington, to see past the color of our brother’s and sister’s skin, or enjoy peace within our borders–we need to turn to the Ruler and Commander of all peoples.

AMERICA – Only God Can Save Our Nation

There comes a time in the affairs of men when they must prepare to defend, not their homes alone, but the tenets of faith and humanity on which their churches, their governments, and their very civilization are founded.

The defense of religion, of democracy, and of good faith among nations is all the same fight. To save one we must now make up our minds to save all.” President Franklin D. Roosevelt

President Roosevelt included those words in his State of the Union address to Congress in 1939, two years before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Clearly, Roosevelt understood the importance of keeping God in high esteem within the family and within governments.

So why does it seem our government has abandoned God?

AMERICA–Stand Up For Christian Freedom

Whenever and wherever a Christian service takes place in America we have laws stating all are welcome to attend. How wonderful it is to have this freedom. The freedom to openly worship God and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

No matter if it’s Lutheran, Methodist, Pentecostal, Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist or any other Christian denomination, I know I’m free to openly carry my Bible into the building of any church in any state and praise the LORD!

Freedom to openly worship in church in America is important to Christians, but open worship has two parts. True open worship means we also, as followers of Christ, have freedom to live the biblical teachings we learn in church. This means allowing Christians to openly live Godly lives; to make family decisions, educational choices, businesses dealings and health options based on what God’s Word tells us.

AMERICA – Put On The Full Armor Of God

If you are a Christian you know God is in control at all times. God knows the beginning, middle and the end of our stories. Yet Christians also know the reality of satan’s continual plot to exploit our lives as he tries to entice, manipulate, and yank us away from our faith in all that God is. And satan doesn’t limit his lure to individuals. He also attacks families, groups, businesses and governments–including the government of the United States.

Satan would love nothing more than for American citizens to completely ignore God’s call.

Thankfully, I believe America will never allow evil to overcome. We have always worshiped and relied upon God as we acknowledge His power and holiness. In fact the birth of America began with an agreement with God. This agreement was created in 1620.

AMERICA – It’s not too late to follow God.

Since the formation of America, beginning with the Mayflower Compact, God has been an integral part of our history. But, like nations of old in the Bible, America too often gets prideful and ignores God. We become arrogant. We stop turning to the Bible for guidance and instead trust our own words over God’s Word.

The same selfishness happened among the Israelites, and history shows that didn’t work well for them. In fact their recklessness for God’s Word left them wandering in the desert for forty years. They were not allowed to enter the Promised Land. It was punishment to the whole generation who stopped believing in God’s power.

God gave Israel many chances to go back to following His word. But Israel did not heed the warnings. Finally, God allowed the city to be destroyed because so many in its nation forsook God and turned to paganism.

America, it’s important to remember and learn from the ancient history of God.
