Jesus Can Bring You Back From The Dead!

We all have bad days. Days filled with sorrow, depression, anxiety. Days which we can’t wait for them to be over . Occasional bad days are just part of the nature of living and we move on, right?

However, there are circumstances in life that deem to overwhelm us (stay with me, this post isn’t depressing it tells about receiving life not staying in death). Overwhelming occurs because the circumstances don’t change even after a good nights sleep. The job environment remains crappy. The marital stress hovers at the dinner table. The savings account goes down instead of up. What gives?

How can we overcome that dead feeling of separation from all things that bring joy?

You Can Walk On Water—Just Like Jesus!

I can’t begin to image what it was like to be a disciple of Jesus in the flesh over two thousand years ago. To actually see Him preform unprecedented miracles, hear Him speak wondrous truth, or feel the touch of His tender hands as He humbly washed my feet—all while knowing those same hands raised three people from the dead. It must have been a mind blowing experience for The Twelve.

The divine story of Jesus waking on water is told three times in the Bible. That specific act went against all physical laws which the disciples naturally understood. Jesus was definitely breaking new territory right in front of them. And the good news for us is—Jesus gives His power to all believers so that we can walk on water, too!

20 Gifts The Blood of Jesus Bestows Upon Us

Jesus Christ was fully human and fully God. So as the flow of His blood from His crucifixion began to take place—beginning in the Garden of Gethsemane as He prayed and ending when He was pierced by the sword in His side—believers began receiving His holy blood as free gifts.

Jesus did the dirty work. He died for our sin. Now it is up to us to accept by faith His holy shedding of blood as gifts given through salvation, forgiveness, healing, atonement, faith, freedom and so much more.

Romans 3:25,26 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.

God’s GREAT GRACE!

I simply can’t shout about God’s GREAT GRACE loud enough! His love remains endless! Though I sinned yesterday, will sin today, and I know I can not avoid sinning tomorrow—we are assured there is always God’s GREAT GRACE to flow over us.

But how do I know this? How can I be certain of favor from the LORD when I know what I’ve done? My sin is born in thought, word and deed—and it never stops reproducing! I have jealous and impure thoughts, I argue, condemn and gossip, and I can’t begin to list all the sin I physically committed as a teen and young adult.

Yes, I’ve done a few nice things in my life. But God’s forgiveness, mercy and grace are not based on merit. Christianity does not base itself on works, as some others have written their religions to be.

Praise God for His truth! I could never do enough to cover all my sin so thank-you, God, for your GREAT GRACE!
