Jesus Christ was fully human and fully God. So as the flow of His blood from His crucifixion began to take place—beginning in the Garden of Gethsemane as He prayed and ending when He was pierced by the sword in His side—believers began receiving His holy blood as free gifts.
Jesus did the dirty work. He died for our sin. Now it is up to us to accept by faith His holy shedding of blood as gifts given through salvation, forgiveness, healing, atonement, faith, freedom and so much more.
Romans 3:25,26 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
