Offer Your Heart To God

Offer your heart to God

“People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

While Saul was still king over Israel, God sent the prophet Samuel to Bethlehem. At God’s instruction Samuel was to fill his horn with oil and go anoint a new king – a son of Jesse. Samuel was not initially told by God that Jesse had eight sons or which son he was to anoint. So when Samuel saw Eliab,  Jesse’s oldest son who was tall and good looking in appearance, Saul thought he had found the right man for the job. Continue reading

You Can Make The Change

You can make the change

She was gracious enough to provide me with a copy to enjoy and write a review. Her topic is how the movement of positive thinking has “dethroned [Christ] and the self was made sovereign, rewiring our minds and weakening our faith.” Continue reading

Jesus Proclaims Who He Is In The Gospel Of John

The disciple John is the son of Zebedee. It was along the shore of the Sea of Galilee they prepared nets in their boat with John’s brother James. The Bible tells us: Without delay he [Jesus] called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him. Mark 1:20

From the very beginning, John was drawn to Jesus. He is represented in the Gospels as being closer to Jesus than the other disciples. John refers to himself as “the disciple Jesus loved.” Continue reading
