Are you questioning if Christianity in America is on the decline? Maybe you’ve witnessed family and friends gradually reduce their attendance to church services and events? Or perhaps, you are the one “declining” by sleeping in one or two Sundays each month because you didn’t feel like getting out of bed? (Just too tired to worship, aye?)
May I remind you–You Are Loved–and God misses your exact presence in His house! He misses your beautiful smile. He misses your heart. He misses you singing worship songs off key! God misses every thought, word and deed that you aren’t sharing with Him when you remove yourself from His presence.
God created you to have a relationship with Him and He truly misses it when you stop calling His name.
For the last few weeks a high volume of Christians have been deep in the trenches, drawn together doing what we do best in all situations—Praying! Prayer is a powerful thing! When family (as well as ourselves), friends, anyone—including our government—is suffering, Christians ALWAYS offer prayer.
In the midst of Washington D.C. battling itself, Republicans versus Democrats over the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court, I have noticed fervent requests for Christians to pray.Continue reading →
Recently I posted,Christians, Claim Your Identity!, noting how Hollywood, again, poked fun at Christians during the Emmy Awards: “She says she doesn’t like watching white award shows because you guys don’t thank Jesus enough. That’s true. The only white people that thank Jesus are Republicans and ex-crackheads.”—Michael Che, referencing his mother.
Of course the flood gate of God-haters in Hollywood will never be totally closed until the return of Christ. So for now, Christians must continue swimming through Hollywood’s muddy waters. And sadly, just as murky mainstream Hollywood has no conscience for attacking Christians as a group, a certain God-mocking editorial cartoonist also has no problem publicly directing a penned attack at one little believing girl.Continue reading →
Some may not like his style, but facts are facts and one can not dispute Donald Trump is accomplishing much needed objectives for those of Christian faith. No, I would not want him to take the lead as my Bible studies teacher; that was not the reason I voted him into the oval office. Religious teaching is not one of his gifts. Business sense, leadership and making deals are President Trump’s gifts.
Writing as someone blessed not as one included in a “basket of deplorables”, and under my own initiative with no order from my husband, I respectfully believe one day a “powerful woman” with America’s interest at heart will lead this country. But today, I am thankful for President Trump.
Had Mr. Trump not been elected, many changes for the betterment of religious living would not have occurred. Listed are a few prominent ideas that the Trump Administration placed in effect.Continue reading →
60 years ago in 1958, Steven Engel from New York brought parents together and made the decision to sue the state over a state authorized prayer in public schools. That case made it to the United States Supreme Court in 1962, where they decided it violated the First Amendment because prayer represented establishment of religion. Engel won.
Then Pennsylvania, in 1963, decided on the case of Abington School District v. Schempp; a complaint made by Schemp to stop Bible readings in public schools. Schempp won.
Also in 1963 came the verdict of Madalyn Murray O’Hair against the Baltimore School System to ban school prayer labeling it “unconstitutional”. O’Hair won.
As a Christian, I believe government made the wrong decisions in all three of these cases, which directly affect core foundations for our children.Continue reading →
While defining how we, the people come by our liberties, revered President Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time.” President Jefferson also asked his countrymen this specific question on the subject: “Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are of God?”Continue reading →
This post reflects chapter twenty-eight in THE STORY. It reveals how the disciples continued to follow Jesus after He ascended to heaven. On a side note, of the remaining original eleven disciples, ten of them died horrific deaths for their believing in the power of name of Jesus.Continue reading →
For the last year this election cycle stampeded through every state in our country. During the process Christians humbly called on God for strength and wisdom. Now, data reveals over 80% of American Evangelicals voted!
Romans 15:5-6 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.Continue reading →
I recognize your glory. As a Christian, I humbly acknowledge you as Creator of all things past, present, and future. I believe in the Trinity of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I am eternally thankful for Christ’s blood that was shed on the Cross and through Your mercy and grace it washed away my wretched sins.
As an American citizen, please know I admire this nation You formed. I respect Continue reading →
Are we ready to win back America? I know we have been in election battle mode for over a year now. Evil has viciously been pitting candidate against candidate, family against family, and friend against friend.
These past months have been tiresome as Christians maneuver to avoid the slings and arrows of satan’s struggle for power. But Christians, we are not called to maneuver, or to navigate or to retreat when it comes to confronting evil. We are called to do just the opposite. Continue reading →
