America Needs Jesus

Jesus is the way, the truth and the light. No one goes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.

This truth is applicable not only to mankind individually but also as a whole involving our nation. Christian citizens of American, together we can save our country. By reading and understanding God’s word, then applying His truth and principles to ourselves, our families, our social and work areas, and yes, also our government–America will be saved.

To be saved individually is to know Jesus, Matthew 1:21. To know God is to know the Image Of God, 2 Corinthians 4:4. To trust in the Lord is to know the Lord Jehovah, Isaiah 26:4. When we know Jesus our hearts desire is to live morally by His commands.

We can apply these same principles for America. If we want to overcome turmoil in Washington, to see past the color of our brother’s and sister’s skin, or enjoy peace within our borders–we need to turn to the Ruler and Commander of all peoples.

Isaiah 55:4 See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples.

Jesus is all these things and so much more to mankind. He is love. He is the creator and sustainer of life for by Him we are formed. Jesus knew us before we were inside our mother’s womb. Jesus knew America before it was formed. So why would we, individually or as a nation, not trust in His ways?

Benjamin Franklin

At the beginnings of America our forefathers trusted Jesus.

John Adams – “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”

Congress 1854 – “The great, vital, and conservative element in our system is the belief of our people in the pure doctrines and the divine truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

Benjamin Franklin – “As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and His religion as He left them to us, the best the world ever saw or is likely to see.”

Signatures on the Declaration of Independence

Our forefathers believed the Bible and Jesus’ teachings and considered them “vital” to America. Of the 56 men who signed the Declaration Of Independence nearly half (24) held seminary or Bible school degrees, America Was Established On God, But Then…

No matter how the mainstream media chooses to report it or how non-religious schools are required to teach it, the fact remains America was founded on truths written in the Bible and it’s time we get back to following those truths.

Thankfully, we have a loving God who patiently waits for all to return to Him.

Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon.

God placed each citizen here for a reason, He has a perfect plan for us. But it seems at this time in history Americans are loosing our way. We are wandering around like the Israelites did in the desert for forty years after they chose to not have faith in God’s plan.

America, we need to trust again in God’s plan the way our country’s forefathers did. When we are separated from Jesus we have no power to overcome–Jesus is our strength. When we are separated from Jesus we remain lost, not knowing which way to turn, not knowing the path our country should take because we are living in darkness. We need Jesus.

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

America needs Jesus to be our light. He is our compass for the paths between the darkness of wrong and the brightness of right. In order for our country to turn from the path of darkness America needs to turn to Jesus!

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

If you’re not certain you’ve ever invited Jesus into your heart, now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com. Through Jesus you will receive the hope that He alone offers.

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”

  1. Our country and our world needs Jesus. And until they accept Him we will continue to have these issues. Even then the bible speaks of nations rising up against one another. These events and many more to come has to take place before Jesus is to return.

That is why it is so important that we continue to share the gospel with everyone.
