God, the magnificent Creator of all things seen and unseen, is everlasting holy glory. God’s glory is not a seeable or touchable object like shiny gold. His glory is more precious than any weight of gold. God’s glory is who He is; His glory is His character. And His character is unmatched, no man will ever replicate God’s character–not even esteemed kings or preachers.
God’s glory is His faithfulness, His truthfulness, the solidity of His Word. God’s glory is the same today as it was yesterday and as it will be tomorrow.
Everything God made, and He made everything, contains His glory. The heavens, animals, plants…they all contain His glory and were created by His glory.
So the beautiful thing for America is: God created America for His glory.
Thank You, Lord, for by Your will You created America.
Revelation 4:11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
America is beautiful. We are blessed to enjoy the beauty of God’s creative breath: light, day and night, the sea, sky and land, vegetation, and lights in the heavens. We are also blessed with the beauty of fish, birds, animals and His formation of mankind.
But–all things that God made for and in His glory eventually die, decay, oxidize, erode, or corrode. That is why no man should offer glory to material things. Material things are not everlasting as our heavenly Father is everlasting. Earthly things are temporary.
Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Our country is forgetting where the true treasure lies. We should not glorify treasures on earth when they loose value and can be destroyed. We should not glorify ourselves over God. God is who created these “treasures” for us on earth and they will not last. In fact America will not last if we continue on a foolish path of continuing to remove God from our country. When we have our eyes directed to heaven, when we focus on His plan and goodness and not accept government control, only then will we flourish as our forefathers intended.
James Madison, the chief architect of the document [the Constitution], said, “We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government, far from it … We have staked the future of all of our political institutions…upon the capacity of each and all of us…to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”https://www.herald-dispatch.com/opinion/founding-fathers-relied-on-gods-wisdom/article_074b89d3-e258-5a14-90c8-48da1c02a57f.html
Psalm 115:1 Not to us, LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness.
America, as you go about your day offer God His glory. God gave us this beautiful land in which we live and we need to thank Him for it. Remember the beautiful lyrics to America The Beautiful with words by Katharine Lee Bates and the melody by Samuel Ward:
O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain! America! America! God shed His grace on thee And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea!
AMERICA – Offer God His Glory!
1 Peter 4:11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.
If you’re not certain you’ve ever invited Jesus into your heart, now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com. Through Jesus you will receive the strength and peace that He alone offers to help you through these troubled times.
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”
