Do you know God is omnipresent? He is everywhere at the same time. How awesome is God? This means when we pray to Him from anywhere He hears us. My husband and I have trouble hearing each other when we are in the same room, but not God. Even in the darkest places, places we would never tell our best friend that we have wandered into, God is there and He hears and listens.
Hearing and listening are two separate abilities. Hearing is the perception of sound through the ear canal while listening takes skill. Listening processes what is being said. I guess the truth is my husband and I do hear each other, we just don’t process the words.
But not God. God listens intently. In fact He desires us to pray to Him anytime we choose; communing with God strengthens our relationship with Him.
America, we need to commune with God everyday so that our relationship with Him grows stronger.
Jeremiah 29:12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
God is more than willing to bless people who worship Him. He is a good father to His children.
Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance.
Because our nation was founded on biblical principals we have been truly blessed. America enjoys freedoms many other countries have never experienced. For example our citizens are encouraged to take part in the voting process and a person’s genealogy doesn’t have to be of noble decent to succeed in our nation.
God blessed us to be the greatest country in the world and provided for us the ability to help other countries in need.
But we are stumbling right now; America is forgetting that God hears and listens when we offer prayers to Him. We are forgetting we can turn to Him for all things. The Bible clearly tells us God loves us and wants us to seek Him, to follow His word.
2 Chronicles 7:14 …if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
It’s not too late, America, for God to intervene in the breakdown of our blessed foundation. Selfishness and greed, family values trampled, false preaching from the church, deceit in government–these are just some of the dark places we have wandered into. Yet God, LORD of heaven and earth, will save us from our own sin if we invite Him to intercede.
This darkness is happening on our Christian watch! Let’s not forget, as Christian Americans, we have God on our side. And if God is with us who can be against us? We need to remember He holds all power.
I encourage you to gather your thoughts and think about what you believe to be darkness in our country. Then bring your concerns, your anxiousness and sorrow for our country, and place it all at the foot of the cross. Confess the sins of our nation, ask for His forgiveness and mercy.
Then ask God for revival in yourself, your family, your church, and your government. America needs to get back to the foundational principles our forefathers originally built this country on and the only way it will happen is by coming to God in prayer.
I am so thankful God hears and listens.
Job 33:26-28 …then that person can pray to God and find favor with him, they will see God’s face and shout for joy; he will restore them to full well-being. And they will go to others and say, ‘I have sinned, I have perverted what is right, but I did not get what I deserved. God has delivered me from going down to the pit, and I shall live to enjoy the light of life.’
