America Needs Revival

Let’s put the righteousness of God back into America.

Are you discouraged with what’s happening in Washington, D.C.? I know I am. Not only do new national laws reflect departure from God, but American family values continue shifting farther left. More and more young people whose parents worked for a living now want everything for free, this means less and less young people will learn their self worth instilled in them by God.

If you expect to escape life’s chaos at home–don’t bother turning on your family TV. Most television programs created for family viewing are a disgrace; expect violence and vulgarity with no shame. And social media? When no one is actually face-to-face with the persons they disagree with, politeness and morals are not part of the conversation. That’s just a sampling of the bad news in life right now.

Thankfully the Good News still reigns–Jesus is alive and waiting for our call!

Jesus loves us and is always waiting for those who strayed from Him to return.

It’s never too late, America. We can come before Jesus at anytime, confess our sin, repent, and get back to following His commandments. Jesus is more than happy to forgive us our transgressions against Him. Jesus is our God of many chances. Jesus is love.

America needs revival!

Christians, we need that spiritual awakening that only Jesus can give. You know what I’m talking about. America needs to revive that passion for God and devotion to His Word that was so important to our Founding Fathers. We are built on His fundamental truths.

America was birthed upon Judeo-Christian principles. Records show the first act of our newly established Congress in 1774 was to open with prayer and read four chapters of the Bible. America in its infancy believed and indeed called upon and relied on the mercy, grace and favor of our LORD.

So what does God do for nations who trust in Him?

Deuteronomy 28:1-3 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

When it comes to nations thriving think of Israel. Israel is 8,019 square miles. America is 3.80 million square miles. Yet Israel is the only country on the planet that for over 3,000 years has had the same name and is in the same location. Other ancient peoples have come and gone such as the Babylonians, Hittites and Amorites. They never aligned with God. Israel, thought she strayed, always returned to God and will remain His chosen people with His favor.

America, we need to come back to God to receive the power of His blessings. A national Christian revival will draw our country nearer to Him. Let us repent our sin and get back to worshiping God for who He is: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Then we can stand on the words He spoke to Israel when they sinned, words that remain faithful and true today:

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

We are designed as “a nation under God with liberty and justice for all.” God did not design our land to be run under socialist or communist law. One needs only to read the first founding document of these United States, The Mayflower Compact, and we find the very first words that read, “In the name of God, Amen.” This great and historical document was created and signed on the Mayflower on November 11, 1620.

The people traveling on the Mayflower knew they would only succeed if God was on their side. They did all they could to observe His commandments and follow His way. They did so because they understood the power of God and gave Him reverence. They believed in what the Bible said and in Jesus’ love for mankind to flourish.

America, we need to get back to following God’s commandments with reverence just as the Pilgrims did. Including the Mayflower Compact our sovereign God also instilled religious order in America’s other documents: the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. Some politicians chose to ignore Christian fundamentals built this country but that’s on them. Do your research and truth is found.

We need revival to receive God’s favor. Pray. Pray for those already in Washington D.C. to see the light. Pray for the next election that Christian men and women are voted into office. Pray that no more acts of the legislature defame God’s holy name. And also pray for other Christians to see the need for revival and that they too begin praying for America’s revival.

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

If you’re not certain you’ve ever invited Jesus into your heart, now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Through Jesus you will receive the strength and peace that He alone offers to help you through these troubled times.

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”
