Pray Over Your Bad Day – 5 Bible Verses

Bad days happen to all of us. They are unavoidable. They quite often contain situations beyond our control. It’s what believers do on bad days (actually we are to do it everyday), that sets us apart from the world. We acknowledge our smallness.

We proclaim God is in control and we live on earth, not in heaven.

To think one has a choice in all of life’s situations is false. Heartache, disease, and unemployment can appear out of nowhere. One may leave home with their head high and a smile on their face, but return feeling the world is against them.

The good news: believers have power over unexpected and unwanted days.

AMERICA – Pray The Lord’s Prayer

If you are at a loss for words when coming before God for yourself, your family, job, government, or church (whatever your need may be), try praying the prayer Jesus taught His disciples.

Before sharing His example of prayer, what we now call The Lord’s Prayer, Jesus first explained to His followers the importance of praying in a manner that is pleasing to God.

Matthew 6:5-13 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.

Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

AMERICA – God Is Bigger Than Anything

When circumstances seem beyond comprehension, when what you thought was the worst that could ever happen actually turned out to be the best part of your week, I encourage you–do not despair.

We are never alone in our suffering. God is here. He knows heartache, tragedy, and what it feels like to suffer loss. He knows the agony of pain, indignation, and that feeling of despair which causes one to choke.

God knows the negativity that feelings and emotions, sent by satan, try to elicit, so He sent positivity, the Holy Spirit, to tug at our hearts and fortify our minds.

God does this, America, to remind us that He is bigger than any situation.

AMERICA – God Is Making A Way

Though at times we feel the government, doctors, family, and yes even the church makes life difficult, we must remember God is always here. He never forsakes us. God is bigger than all things combined; His plan is perfect.

Remember how God made a way for His beloved Jewish people again and again, despite their continual failing to trust? They grumbled while being lead from slavery, yet God made a way. They grumbled about overtaking the new land God already promised as theirs, yet He made a way.

Many times God’s people gave up hope because they could not see His holy plan, yet God continued His perfect plan, remaining beside them, bringing them through very hard times.

America, do you think we are following the grumbling footsteps of Israel?

AMERICA – Declare God’s Worth

God alone is worthy of all praise. He is God, majestic and mighty. Like everything else, America’s days were created by Him before our nation came into being. God has a perfect plan for America, surrounded in love, detailed and intertwined through its hardworking citizens. Regardless we accept His plan or not, God is worthy of all praise.

Acceptance to the plan means obedience. Obedience may sometimes be hard, but God is very worthy because He is also very good. For every blessing God has already bestowed upon America (Can they even be counted?), we gain confidence He is faithful to do it again.

Americans should be like the prophet Jeremiah:

Speak out and clearly declare God’s worth to our nation.

AMERICA – Don’t Doubt God

America is going though some tough times right now: a pandemic the media won’t report clear data on, elections called under questionable factors, and families and businesses trying to navigate new normals. If you are not a true believer, tough times may lead you to experience doubt in our God.

But don’t doubt–don’t be a Doubting Thomas.

Doubting Thomas is a nickname derived from the story in the book of John. It’s when Jesus, after being crucified and buried, rises from the grave and appears to most of His disciples in a room with locked doors. Thomas, a disciple not present, was later told by those that stood among Jesus what they experienced.

It’s hard to place ourselves in Thomas’s shoes, but think about what you believe, America, then think about Thomas.

God Bless America

In His omniscient, all-knowing power (Psalm 139:1-24), God knew the problems citizens of a nation would face. In accordance with His all-loving nature, God gave instruction on how to live with justice for all.

Deuteronomy 16:18-20 Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the LORD your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the innocent. Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Please, take this opportunity to ask God to change negative hearts of all leaders corrupting our nation; that those leaders may humble themselves, see their corruption, then take steps to correct any deceit. Pray these leaders may decide to fully accept and invite Jesus into their lives as their Lord and savior.

Also pray for any specific law for justice you believe needs to be passed, or any injustice you believe needs corrected in America.

God desires us to rely on His glory to save us, not ourselves.

Humbleness pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of His truth.

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

If you’re not certain you’ve ever invited Jesus into your heart, now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com. Through Jesus you will receive the hope that He alone offers.

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”

AMERICA – 7 Bible Verses God Pursues Us

Yes, God does pursue us. He created us because He wants to have a relationship with us. As mankind grew in numbers and expanded well beyond the Garden of Eden, we must still remember we were not created simply to accomplish great things and personally prosper. God creates us for His glory.

God creates us to praise and rely on Him for health, protection, understanding…for all things great and small relative to our lives. He creates us because He loves us just as He loved Adam and Eve.

And just as God never hid from the two people He first created, God never hides from the nations that grew from them. The Bible tells us it was man and women who hid from God after they ate the fruit He told them not to eat. But God went looking for them:

AMERICA–Give Thanks For What We Have

America, let’s give thanks to God for all that is good in our country. Many foreigners dream of America as the “Land of opportunity.” We are a place where you don’t have to be born of noble blood to hold a position of authority– think Abraham Lincoln, one of our greatest presidents. No wonder people of many nations, specifically nations that are oppressed, continue to flood our borders.

In America if one works hard, applies ingenuity and takes responsibility, that dream becomes a reality–think Levi Strauss. Born in Germany, Strauss came to the United States to become a citizen who built a jeans company now worth 6 billion dollars.

America may have some faults but thankfully God never stops blessing the people, businesses, economics, resources, or virtues of this great nation.

AMERICA – It’s not too late to follow God.

Since the formation of America, beginning with the Mayflower Compact, God has been an integral part of our history. But, like nations of old in the Bible, America too often gets prideful and ignores God. We become arrogant. We stop turning to the Bible for guidance and instead trust our own words over God’s Word.

The same selfishness happened among the Israelites, and history shows that didn’t work well for them. In fact their recklessness for God’s Word left them wandering in the desert for forty years. They were not allowed to enter the Promised Land. It was punishment to the whole generation who stopped believing in God’s power.

God gave Israel many chances to go back to following His word. But Israel did not heed the warnings. Finally, God allowed the city to be destroyed because so many in its nation forsook God and turned to paganism.

America, it’s important to remember and learn from the ancient history of God.
