God’s Promises To Me!

God's greatest promise is from Abram's Seed, all the nations of the earth would be blessed.

Let us continue to seek the perfect plan God made for each of us.

We are in the middle of worshiping God as we thank Him for all He has done and will do as we seek His plan. Faithfully, we stand firm on God’s word, striving to follow His way.

We are never alone in the plan God made for each of us. He is right here, holding our hands as we press on. Thank Him for that comfort. God’s Plan For Me!

Our God is so good! He thought of you in the beginning. He chose you and predestined you, so of course He will not leave you stumbling through life without a plan. Thank Him for that truth, and thank Holy Spirit for His help as you seek God's plan.

As we continue to seek the perfect plan God made for each of us. . .

Thank you for stepping out in faith! We are walking on water here! We are continuing to move outside our comfort zone as we seek God’s plan.  If you are new to the blog, I suggest you read my last two posts,  “Christian Screenwriter Seeks God’s Plan” and “God Called Me!”,  just to catch up.

We are on the third week of a seven week series, designed to worship God for who He is, to thank Him for all He has done and will do, praying to better understand the plan He prepared for us. Let’s begin by positioning our hearts to know God is awesome! Continue reading

God Called Me!

Being called means we  aspire to follow the example of Christ. We desire to have faith, be good, gain knowledge of the Lord,  exhibit self-control, preserver for Him, be godly, affectionate, and to love all.

Let’s seek the perfect plan God made for each of us.

Last week I shared C – P – P – B – B; five plans of God:

We are called by God, and He created a plan for each of us. He made promises to us, and to believe affords blessings.

This week starts the first of five weeks where I share seven specific Bible verses, inspired by Holy Spirit, on each of those Five Truths. As we individually seek out God’s plan, let’s start with praise for being called by God. Position your heart and thank Him right now for all He’s done in your life; the people around you, and situations (good and bad) that have led you here today.

(If you are new and seek a better understanding of God’s plan for you, check out last week’s post.)

Christian Screenwriter Seeks God’s Plan

If you are searching to understand God's plan for you, I encourage you to read my blog for next five weeks. As we step out in faith, you will read His word and claim it. Your plan was created before you were born, and you were chosen by God to fulfill it as only you can.

We Lift Him Up when we follow His plan.

Whenever we strive to understand and carryout God’s plan for us, we glorify His name. Why? Because God designed each of us for a purpose. When we seek, then carry out that purpose, it shows we acknowledge Him.  And by acknowledging Him we Lift Him Up, thus demonstrating desire to carry out His plan.

As I seek God’s plan for me, I’ve prayed that I am teachable and willing. Now, it’s time to walk on water! I’m putting my faith in five of God’s truths that have helped me to understand His plan for me: Continue reading

Believe In Christmas!

Believe in Christmas

What a blessing to be spending the holidays with my husband, mother, daughter and son-in-law!

Holiday’s past included a wider field of family, but over the years that has changed. Beloved members have passed, some moved out of state, and sadly, we have lost touch with others for various reasons.

However, though our party group has gotten smaller, I have found I have expanded my understanding of the meaning of Christmas. Continue reading

The Perfect Gift!

The perfect gift!

The Little Drummer Boy” (originally “Carol of the Drum“) is a beloved Christmas song, written in 1941 by American composer, Katherine Kennicott Davis.  It was first recorded in 1951 by the Trapp Family Singers.

The simple lyrics explain the situation of a boy invited to see the new born King.  His dilemma: What gift can I, a poor young boy, offer to a king?

Turns out that young boy offered the only thing he had, the perfect gift for all Christ followers to emulate – Himself.  Let us picture the scene as it unfolds before the Christ: Continue reading

IT’S A BOY!

Glory To God In The Highest!

A virgin birth took place two thousand years ago, as foretold over seven hundred years prior,  by the the prophet, Isaiah. How wonderful was that miracle conception! Isaiah stated:

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

The virgin mother was a young woman named Mary. Mary, daughter of Eli (Heli), has her bloodline from the linage of king David through his son Nathan. Mary was known to have favor from God, and believed no word from God ever fails! Continue reading

Old Testament Writings Reveal Jesus!

 Old Testament writings reveal Jesus!

Through The Word, God reveals Himself and communicates to humanity.

The Bible consists of sixty-six individual books. Thirty-nine books in the Old Testament, originally written mostly in Hebrew and some parts in Aramaic. The New Testament contains twenty-seven books and was first written in Greek.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The time span for writing the Bible’s individual books, written by approximately forty different authors, is over a period of 1,500 years. Each book is written as God’s Word, and was recognized as such by God’s people of Israel. The Old Testament writings were finished approximately 400 years before the birth of Christ and Israel’s kings referred to the books as Scripture.

Although 1,500 years is a long span of time, the Bible is unwavering from Genesis – the first book in the Old Testament, to Revelation – the last book in the New Testament. The Old Testament was written by a unique list of many writers. A partial list includes:

  • Moses, a shepherd who became the greatest Jewish leader and spoke with God face-to-face.
  • Joshua, a mighty warrior and God chosen successor of Moses.
  • Nehemiah, a faithful king’s cupbearer who became a respected governor.
  • David, a shepherd boy who killed a giant and became a mighty king.
  • Solomon, son of David and king by birthright.
  • Daniel, a captive prisoner turned king’s chosen advisor.

Prophets of the Old Testament shared prophecies inspired by God. Jesus was prophesied about throughout the Old Testament. One of these prophecies is Micah 5:2,  “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

Micah 5:2 prophesied Jesus would be born in the city of Bethlehem, and that was affirmed in the New Testament book of Matthew 2:1, After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem

Jesus was indeed born in Bethlehem.

Another Old Testament prophecy, Isaiah 9:6-7, tells us Jesus would descend from the house of David: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

Romans 1:3 confirms Jesus’ earthly life as a descendant of David: regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life  was a descendant of David,

Old Testament Zechariah 12:10, tells us Jesus’ body will be pierced. In New Testament John 20:25-27, we read Jesus’ disciple Thomas at first doubted the resurrected Jesus, until Jesus stood before him and told Thomas to touch the pierced marks from the Cross on His body. After touching Jesus’ wounds, Thomas believed in the risen Lord.

The Bible tells us about Jesus long before His birth in a manger. Other prophesies include some will cast lots for His garments, as revealed in Psalm 22:18, and proved true in Matthew 27:35.

Isaiah 53:5-12 states Jesus will be the sacrifice for our sins. This prophecy was acknowledged in a letter written by the apostle Paul. It is in Romans 5:6-8 where Paul writes to the Romans explaining how God demonstrated His love for us by having Christ die for the ungodly.

What God predicts, will eventually come true.  All of these prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus Christ, confirming Him as the Son of God. Let us remember the history of the name Jesus. Let us remember to lift Him up as the true prophesied king.
