Receive 2019 As Your “Jonah” Year!

How was your 2018? Was it fun—did you vacation and enjoy family and friends? Did you accomplish all those goals you set for yourself last New Years Eve—such as running to get in shape, or advancing in your work place, or reconnecting with someone?

Perhaps, like me, you had a few set backs. Perhaps you allowed anger and pride to steal previously enjoyable family time—again! And maybe, your main goal for the year, somehow got swallowed up by something beyond your control? I hate when that happens!

Jesus Is Born In Bethlehem

While Joseph and Mary were living in Nazareth and Mary was still with child, the Roman Emperor, Caesar Augustus, declared a census of the entire Roman empire.

Pregnancy or not, you don’t keep an Emperor waiting!  Augustus decided he needed a population count for military and tax reasons. Though Jews were not required to serve in the military, they most definitely were required to pay taxes.

So Joseph took his pregnant fiancee, Mary, and made the seventy mile journey to Bethlehem. He traveled to  because men were required to return to their hometown; Joseph was a descendent of King David and Joseph’s family came from Bethlehem.

Angels Deliver Messages Of Hope!

Joseph from Nazareth, a descendent of David pledged to marry the virgin, Mary, received a personal message of hope from God.  Delivered by an angel, Joseph understood God’s direction to fulfill his part in God’s divine plan.

The message to this local carpenter was the answer to a unique personal dilemma Joseph was struggling with at the time of the angel’s encounter.

And Joseph’s obedience would forever change the direction of our world!

Bring Your Bible To School Day!

Bring your Bible to school day

October 4 is Bring Your Bible To School Day! How fantastic is that?

The event, started by Focus on the Family in 2014,  is growing in popularity.  With every state in the nation involved, 8,000 students participated in 2014, 155,000 in 2015, and 356,000 in 2016, and the number for 2017 almost reached 500,000!

Bring Your Bible To School Day started as a response to America’s schools continuing to forbid religious groups, Bibles, prayer, kneeling for God at football games, or even acknowledging Jesus in the classroom.

This much needed event  is something Christian students may partake in openly. Continue reading

Thank-you, Jesus!

Thank you Jesus

When was the last time you thanked Jesus?

Was it last night, after your feet snuggled warmly under the covers? Did you thank Him for giving you another twenty-four hours to share His love?

Or did you thank Him this morning, before those same feet hit the floor? Did you acknowledge allowing your eyes to see the sun rise; enabling you to make right any wrongs you committed yesterday?  (FYI, as I’m writing, I thanked Jesus for my MS.)

Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Continue reading

If Jesus really is The Son of God. . .

If Jesus really is the Son of God...

Jesus, who was crucified at age thirty-three, spent the last three years of His life on earth traveling the areas of Galilee, Samaria and Judea. His purpose was to share His identity as the way, the truth and the light of God.

Even while Jesus was a young child of twelve, everyone who heard Him was amazed at His understanding and His answers while discussing scripture.

Jesus, who has the power of heaven within Him, could have saved Himself from the agony of the cross but He chose to suffer.  Why, people want to know, did this “man” do this? Continue reading

Give your heart to God. He loves YOU!

Give your heart to God. He loves you!

Are you  following God’s word, being set apart with divine favor and protection?

I hope you do chose God’s blessings because:

 God loves YOU!

God desires you to come to Him during any situation, especially before you make life changing decisions. King David of Israel loved and trusted God, yet he still forgot the need to continually seek Him. Continue reading

God told us what will happen!

God told us what will happen!

Christians know the book of Revelation in the New Testament. John the apostle, wrote it when he was about 90 years old as a prisoner of Rome on the island of Patmos in the Aegean Sea. Like his first book, John, Revelation reveals the full identity of Christ, plus (in short), Revelation proclaims how final judgement occurs for believers and unbelievers when Christ returns.

However, an important book of the Old Testament too often overlooked on the topic of eternal destiny is Deuteronomy. Written by Moses, he encouraged the Israelites to follow God’s law – and if they ignored God, God states exactly what will happen.

This is information we NEED to remember – today!

Who do YOU relate to in the Bible?

Who do you relate to in the Bible?

There are many courageous and faithful men and women in the Bible.  Their stories show dedication and love for God. While some rose from commonness to power, most remained as everyday people choosing to follow the One true God, one day at a time.

There is one man, in his last hours on earth, who became a follower of Jesus. Blessings!

These are just a sampling of people who simply believed in all of God’s goodness and faithfulness, then in their own way shared His truth with others. Their personal stories are an inspiration to us all.

Which of the following persons do you best relate to?

Did Jesus Really Resurrect?

Jesus resurrected

Yes!

Absolute biblical recordings reveal witnesses to this extreme historic event. Jesus did arise from the dead! There are so many witnesses to His resurrection, it becomes unfathomable how doubters make claims against documented facts.

Thankfully, though the physical body of Jesus is gone His spiritual presence lives forever! The miracle of Jesus raised to life from death is central in Christianity. There is no one else who walked this earth that man slaughtered, then came back to life! Continue reading
