I am a sinner – I sin in thought, word, and deed. Over and over, everyday, that is my nature, that is who I am.
On my own I will never enter heaven’s gate. It is only through Him, Jesus, who suffered and died for sin, that all are saved.
Jesus came once. He shared God’s love with those around Him. His perfect deeds and instructions are recorded for all mankind to receive His blessing of eternal life. Our opportunity to partake in salvation from the savior of the world is available for the asking.
Jesus prepared the way for us; by choice we are one breath away from eternal life or eternal damnation.
Jesus’ coming was for good reason.
Hebrews 9:24-28 For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Jesus Christ came to save mankind from all sin. He was crucified, dead and buried in a tomb yet He rose from that grave. Jesus is the only proclaimed deity ever to return Himself from the dead and be seen, socialize, and eat with mankind. Mohammad, pharaohs, Egyptian gods, nor Buddha, ever died then rose to live amongst us.
Revelation 1:18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
God the Father sent Jesus to us so that we may know Him. Through believing in Jesus, and Jesus alone, eternal life is given. The Father judges no one. Salvation comes through knowing Jesus; the one who died a horrific death on the cross, the final sacrifice for sin.
So the importance of trusting, knowing, loving, calling out to Jesus before your last breath on earth is critical. There will be no more chances of salvation after death.
John 5:22-24 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him. “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
Many consider themselves good after comparing their actions to criminals here on earth. The assumption of refraining from selling heroine to children, beating the wife, or robbing a bank does not make one righteous. Just as the assumption if one donates money to a good cause, delivers food for the Food Bank, or only speaks kind words to others, also does not make one righteous in the eyes of God.
Romans 3:19-20 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
Only through declaration to Jesus are we saved.
Romans0:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
If you are not a believer may I encourage you to call on Jesus right now. It’s up to you. No one else on earth is able to proclaim your destiny. Only you have the opportunity to choose heaven or hell. So before your final chance of eternal salvation passes you by, before heaven’s key is beyond your grasp, before Jesus must pass judgement upon your soul – claim Jesus as your savior!
That opportunity to proclaim Christ as your savior, which is available to you for your lifetime, ends the moment you breathe out your last breath.

An excellent writing shining a light on just how close any one of us are to the gates of heaven or hell. Sadly many live as though they have forever, when in reality our forever could be within the hour. God Bless you for honoring the one who is our life.
