The Christian voice in America, over the years, has turned into a whisper. It’s happening in two ways:
- Unbelievers are shouting louder than believers for their “constitutional right” to remove God from our beautiful country.
- Believers remain quiet.
The current trend of keeping God out of all things American, the unbeliever’s view of separation of church and state, is not the plan our founders had when they birthed America. Of the 56 signers the Declaration of Independence, nearly half (24) held seminary or Bible school degrees. Our leaders had full understanding of the the need for God in America. Back in the day, they shouted those beliefs through America’s founding documents.
”We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” — The Declaration of Independence.
There were several drafts of the Declaration of Independence, allowing for changes…at anytime…the references to God. Meaning acknowledgments to God could have been altered. They were not. There are actually four references to God in place. Facts, when not altered, hidden, or ignored by those who oppose Jesus, clearly acknowledge the founders wanted our Judeo-Christian God included in the building of America.
What founders were opposed to, what some of them experienced first hand by European tyrannical governments, was to be a nation forced into submission of one religion established by government. That is what is meant by the separation of church and state. Government shall not force upon its people one designated religion.
Over years true separation has been misrepresented. Reference to God, written into the Declaration of Independence four times, and the Constitution, under Article 7, includes: “in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven“; they both acknowledge God.
As liberalism shouts louder demanding their rights, conservatives remain unresponsive in contradicting misinformation. A change must occur.
If Christian Americans want freedom to pray, worship, speak, read, write, and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ openly, now and for our children’s children, we better get bolder for Christ! We better voice Christianity, as declared by our founding documents when properly read in context.
Scripture instructs us not to be complacent; God desires us to declare His glory against the faces of evil.
Ephesians 6:12-17 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love.
Psalms 18:25-29 To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd. You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty. You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.
2 Thessalonians 2:15-16 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope,
1 Timothy 6:11-12But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Our work for God is never in vain. His kingdom here on earth is worth fighting for, not only for our families’ futures but also so that other souls may be saved.
1 Corinthians 15:57-58 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
