God Bless America

In His omniscient, all-knowing power (Psalm 139:1-24), God knew the problems citizens of a nation would face. In accordance with His all-loving nature, God gave instruction on how to live with justice for all.

Deuteronomy 16:18-20 Appoint judges and officials for each of your tribes in every town the LORD your God is giving you, and they shall judge the people fairly. Do not pervert justice or show partiality. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the innocent. Follow justice and justice alone, so that you may live and possess the land the LORD your God is giving you.

Please, take this opportunity to ask God to change negative hearts of all leaders corrupting our nation; that those leaders may humble themselves, see their corruption, then take steps to correct any deceit. Pray these leaders may decide to fully accept and invite Jesus into their lives as their Lord and savior.

Also pray for any specific law for justice you believe needs to be passed, or any injustice you believe needs corrected in America.

God desires us to rely on His glory to save us, not ourselves. 

Humbleness pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of His truth.

AMERICA – Offer God His Glory

God, the magnificent Creator of all things seen and unseen, is everlasting holy glory. God’s glory is not a seeable or touchable object like shiny gold. His glory is more precious than any weight of gold. God’s glory is who He is; His glory is His character. And His character is unmatched, no man will ever replicate God’s character–not even esteemed kings or preachers.

God’s glory is His faithfulness, His truthfulness, the solidity of His Word. God’s glory is the same today as it was yesterday and as it will be tomorrow.

Everything God made, and He made everything, contains His glory. The heavens, animals, plants…they all contain His glory and were created by His glory.

So the beautiful thing for America is: God created America for His glory.

AMERICA–Stand Up For Christian Freedom

Whenever and wherever a Christian service takes place in America we have laws stating all are welcome to attend. How wonderful it is to have this freedom. The freedom to openly worship God and hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

No matter if it’s Lutheran, Methodist, Pentecostal, Catholic, Episcopalian, Baptist or any other Christian denomination, I know I’m free to openly carry my Bible into the building of any church in any state and praise the LORD!

Freedom to openly worship in church in America is important to Christians, but open worship has two parts. True open worship means we also, as followers of Christ, have freedom to live the biblical teachings we learn in church. This means allowing Christians to openly live Godly lives; to make family decisions, educational choices, businesses dealings and health options based on what God’s Word tells us.

America Needs Revival

Let’s put the righteousness of God back into America.

Are you discouraged with what’s happening in Washington, D.C.? I know I am. Not only do new national laws reflect departure from God, but American family values continue shifting farther left. More and more young people whose parents worked for a living now want everything for free, this means less and less young people will learn their self worth instilled in them by God.

If you expect to escape life’s chaos at home–don’t bother turning on your family TV. Most television programs created for family viewing are a disgrace; expect violence and vulgarity with no shame. And social media? When no one is actually face-to-face with the persons they disagree with, politeness and morals are not part of the conversation. That’s just a sampling of the bad news in life right now.

Thankfully the Good News still reigns–Jesus is alive and waiting for our call!

AMERICA–Give Thanks For What We Have

America, let’s give thanks to God for all that is good in our country. Many foreigners dream of America as the “Land of opportunity.” We are a place where you don’t have to be born of noble blood to hold a position of authority– think Abraham Lincoln, one of our greatest presidents. No wonder people of many nations, specifically nations that are oppressed, continue to flood our borders.

In America if one works hard, applies ingenuity and takes responsibility, that dream becomes a reality–think Levi Strauss. Born in Germany, Strauss came to the United States to become a citizen who built a jeans company now worth 6 billion dollars.

America may have some faults but thankfully God never stops blessing the people, businesses, economics, resources, or virtues of this great nation.

Washington, D.C. – Hear the Words of Psalm 46

Psalm 46 contains an often repeated yet misinterpreted verse from the Bible:

Be still, and know that I am God.

Taken at its word “be still” could mean “be quiet” or “wait.” But, it’s important that we not ignore the context in which the phrase is used. One needs to know exactly what the psalm is referencing before randomly removing a sentence from an entire chapter and fathoming its meaning. In it, the psalmist tells a short story beginning with referencing “trouble”.

Taken from chapter 46 in Psalms, “Be still” isn’t meant to imply passively waiting on the Lord. By studying the Hebrew word and pulling together the entire chapter we see the statement implies more of a call to action. The action to “stop”. As we think about the political climate of America right now this particular verse, in fact the entire chapter, can poetically be applied to the current activity in Washington, D.C.

AMERICA–Believe In The Power Of Prayer

Ancient Israel did not have the personal relationship with God that Christians experience today in America. It’s only through the acceptance of The Cross, all that Jesus suffered pertaining to His death and resurrection, and the empowerment of Holy Spirit, that Americans and all peoples can experience a personal relationship with our Father.

That’s good news for Americans to remember right now, since many citizens during this current political climate are having trouble seeing the presence of God.

If that’s you, if you’re a believer in Christ yet currently doubt God still resides in our nation’s capitol, perhaps it’s time to step-up your prayer routine.

AMERICA–Pray For Our Nation

If you follow my blog you no doubt read my post:14 Bible Verses to Pray Over Your Home. It was written to encourage prayer for God’s dominion over your home. With humble hearts you were asked to specifically pray in every room of your home, calling to the Lord, asking for blessings and favor as you proclaimed His faithful word.

As Christians that’s what we are supposed to do. We are to proclaim God’s word, His goodness, over every aspect of life. This means not just our lives but also over our homes, families, businesses, travel, relationships, health…everything.

And everything includes our government.

Yes, God should have sovereign authority over our government. But our government has slowly turned its back to God, forgetting the covenant our forefathers made with Him. We are losing track of right and wrong and need to get America back to understanding what President George Washington knew:

America Was Established On God, But Then…

I admire this nation formed by God. I respect the brave men and women, motivated by God, who fought to establish this country. The precise structure and composing of our Declaration of Independence was hard fought along with our Constitution which affords us liberty and personal rights. How wonderful to be born in a country with these freedoms. May God bless America.

When independence was declared from Great Britain on July 4, 1776, God birthed a new nation. To His glory this new nation was fully aware of their Creator.

”We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” — The Declaration of Independence.

Of the 56 men who signed this founding document, nearly half (24) held seminary or Bible school degrees. Clearly their instilled Christian faith affected these Founding Fathers as they referenced God in historical documents.
