Daniel’s Prayer

Daniel's Prayer

I was reading the book of Daniel, and came across Daniel’s prayerful plea for his nation Israel. In these times of national rebellion, hostility towards a neighbor and civic disregard for God’s Word, I though now is a good time to remember what open, honest prayer with God sounds like. Here is Daniel 9:4-19 : Continue reading

Trust In the Word Not The World

Trust in The Word not the world

Was there ever a time you expressed personal views and it was quite obvious you were swimming upstream? You shared a belief that did not flow with the belief of the person you were talking to? I understand the feeling; like I’m drowning all alone. But the Bible tells us many times we need to remain strong and do everything in love – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, Ephesians 6:10-17. And not to conform to the world – Romans 12:2. Continue reading

ABRAHAM – Faith To Follow God No Matter…

Abraham

One year ago on August 4, I created my first blog post. That post introduced the theme for this blog – desiring to lift up God’s name. The Bible describes many men and women with interesting accounts much more courageous and God centered than any posts I have written. Their stories recount God’s chosen; those who desired to lift up His holy name. They were men and women displaying unending confidence and trust in all God asked them to do. And one of those faithful men is Abraham. Continue reading

GOD’S ABSOLUTE PLAN

God's Absolute Plan

Job was a wealthy man of God. He was upright and blameless, often offering to the LORD, sacrifices for his children just in case they “cursed God in their hearts.” The Bible then tells us one day, as satan roamed back and forth on earth, the LORD mentioned to satan that Job “fears God and shuns evil.” Continue reading

GOD FORGIVES!

God Forgives

Ask and it will be given.

When Moses lead the Israelites at the foot of Mount Sinai, they witnessed daily the sacrifices given to God (Exodus 29:38-46) at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. An Israelite brought an animal to be sacrificed, placed his hand on the animal’s head to symbolically transfer his sins to the animal for atonement, then watched as the Levite priest slaughtered the animal. Ezekiel – Hard Truth Mixed With Future Blessing

Ezekiel Hard Truth

I had concern for my holy name, which the people of Israel profaned among the nations where they had gone. “Therefore say to the Israelites, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: It is not for your sake, people of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned  among the nations where you have gone. I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I am proved holy through you before their eyes. Ezekiel 36:21-23 Continue reading

A Response to the John Hagee Intercourse Interview

John Hagee Intercourse Interview

A friend brought to my attention a recent article, “John Hagee Calls For “Prosecuting Women Who Say God’s Name During Intercourse”. Written by , June 15th 2015, NEWSLO Just Enough News. Because my blog focuses on lifting up God’s name,  I’d like to comment on this controversial interview.

Pastor Hagee, founder and senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, stated “One of the things that the Bible has consistently denounced is the taking of the Lord’s name in vain.” Christians, we know this statement is rooted on the third commandment, written in stone by the finger of God. It is a biblical truth; we are instructed to keep God’s name holy.

Beauty In The Name Of Jesus

Beauty in the name of Jesus

Our holy Father’s son, is God’s Word in the flesh. Jesus came to us to demonstrate God’s Word through His love for us. His was baptized around the age of thirty (Luke 3:23), and His ministry lasted approximately three years. In that short span of time, Jesus selected a devoted group of twelve disciples. They gave up all they had in order to follow and learn from Him. Continue reading
