Unhappy with His actions are the local Pharisees and teachers of the law. They are the ones confronting Jesus and questioning, “Why are you doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath?”

John the Baptist son of Zechariah was present, baptizing many into a new relationship with God. John is described as preparing the way for the expected coming Messiah. Known for his unconventional clothing made of camel’s hair and leather, John also consumes a unique diet of locusts and wild honey.
Sources reveal this wilderness man preached his aggressive message of baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. What he is not known for is a polite disposition. The couple has been in marital bliss for twelve years. Mary’s son Jesus is also twelve years old; though records affirm Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit following her engagement to Joseph.
