Post #2 – As Reported From The Book Of Luke
BREAKING — Today in Jerusalem, 40 days after the baby boy Savior was born in Bethlehem, a man called Simeon, known to be righteous and devout was moved by the Spirit. Unexpectedly, Simeon took the baby boy Savior from His parents arms in the temple courts. The parents, Virgin Mary His mother and Joseph the carpenter His earthly father, are both from Galilee. The family is in town to fulfill several religious ceremonies.
According to Jewish Law as stated in Leviticus 12:3, the baby boy has already been circumcised per the instructed time frame of 8 days after this virgin birth. And He has rightfully been given the chosen name Jesus (meaning Savior) as instructed by the angel. “…You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus…”
Jewish family faithfully follows law.
Records also reveal the baby Savior underwent the Jewish Redemption of the first born. This ceremony requires a new Jewish family to present their firstborn son to God one month after birth. Documentation of a direct quote from God on this very matter is found in Exodus 13:2:
As law states, women who have recently given birth are not permitted within the temple courts because they are considered ceremonially unclean. However, a crucial point to this story is the time frame of the birth of the Savior to Mary’s appearance in the temple courts. Mary has concluded her 40 day restriction as required by law, so therefore that is why she was present in the temple courts at the time Simeon grabbed the baby savior.
Also in keeping with the Law of the Lord, the young couple are reported to have offered “a pair of doves or two pigeons.” as their sacrifice for their Purification of the mother ceremony.
Prophets acknowledge Jesus as Messiah.
Eyewitnesses describe Simeon taking the child in his arms. They also quote him as praising God and saying:
Unbeknownst to the couple, Simeon the prophet was told by God through the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. As of today, the old man can now die in peace.
After Simeon blessed the couple it was then overheard precisely what Simeon stated to Mary:
Contrary to how the immediate witnesses presumed the couple would react to the initial snatching, the couple actually were seen marveling at all that Simeon said about their baby son.
One would assume such praise was sufficient enough. Yet, immediately another prophet approached Mary and Joseph. Many Israelites can affirm the old prophetess Anna, daughter of Penul from the tribe of Asher never leaves the temple. For seven years she lived with her husband, then was widowed. Currently she is eighty-four.
Locals know Anna to be very close to God. She worships night and day, fasting and praying. The fact that the prophetess Anna gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem, substantially solidifies the truth to those who believe Jesus is the Messiah!
