Jesus Has Set You Free!

Jesus took my sin to the cross.

While Jesus, the Son of God, was traveling about Jerusalem teaching the Jewish people about love,  a rebel named Barabbas lead a group of political insurgents in a rebellion against Rome.

bar-abbas means “son of Abba [Father]”

Barabbas was a murderer who hated paying taxes to Rome and was aggressively trying to end all Roman authority.  His group of insurrectionists started an uprising and because of this they were thrown into prison – Continue reading

Jesus Sacrificed His Blood For You!

Jesus shed His holy blood seven different ways for us at the cross.

Jesus shed His holy blood seven different ways for us at the cross.

The significance of this sacrifice for mankind is in the meaning behind each blood shedding. It was through Jesus’ perfect blood that seven freedoms were returned to us, redeeming and setting us free from bondage.

Leviticus 16:19 He shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times to cleanse it and to consecrate it from the uncleanness of the Israelites.

Believe In Christmas!

Believe in Christmas

What a blessing to be spending the holidays with my husband, mother, daughter and son-in-law!

Holiday’s past included a wider field of family, but over the years that has changed. Beloved members have passed, some moved out of state, and sadly, we have lost touch with others for various reasons.

However, though our party group has gotten smaller, I have found I have expanded my understanding of the meaning of Christmas. Continue reading

The Perfect Gift!

The perfect gift!

The Little Drummer Boy” (originally “Carol of the Drum“) is a beloved Christmas song, written in 1941 by American composer, Katherine Kennicott Davis.  It was first recorded in 1951 by the Trapp Family Singers.

The simple lyrics explain the situation of a boy invited to see the new born King.  His dilemma: What gift can I, a poor young boy, offer to a king?

Turns out that young boy offered the only thing he had, the perfect gift for all Christ followers to emulate – Himself.  Let us picture the scene as it unfolds before the Christ: Continue reading

More and more followed JESUS

More and more followed Jesus

I participated in the study of THE STORY – THE BIBLE AS ONE CONTINUING STORY OF GOD AND HIS PEOPLE. Foreword by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee.

This post reflects chapter twenty-eight in THE STORY. It reveals how the disciples continued to follow Jesus after He ascended to heaven.  On a side note, of the remaining original eleven disciples, ten of them died horrific deaths for their believing in the power of name of Jesus. The LORD Looks At The Heart

The LORD looks at the heart.

Israel longed for a king, as other nations had their kings. So God found favor in Saul, son of Kish. Though Saul reigned forty-two years, it did not take him long to disobey God by failing to completely destroy the Amalekites and all their possessions. Thus,  Saul fell out of God’s favor.

This action lead God to search for a new king, one with a heart God knew to be true. Continue reading

God came in the flesh. BELIEVE!

God came in the flesh. Believe!

Faith That God Was Made Flesh

Do you have trouble believing God came to earth to dwell among us, dressed in the flesh of mankind? Some people may wish they have eternal life, hoping earth is not all there is for us. The apostle John states we can know we have it, based on God’s Word.

God himself tells us in the book of 1 John, that He came to us in the body of Jesus Christ. And His coming was a gift, so that whosoever believes in Jesus will have eternal life with Him in heaven. Read the Good News, shared by John: Continue reading

Jesus wants to know YOU!

Jesus wants to know you!

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:20

Like a delivery man tap-tap-tapping  on your front door waiting for you to answer; Jesus lets you know He is available. And the gift Jesus offers is certain: you will be set free from sin Continue reading

The B-I-B-L-E/
Yes, that’s the book for me/
I stand alone on the Word of God/
the B-I-B-L-E/

Do your remember that little song from Sunday School class? As a child, I enjoyed singing it because the tune is cute and we would sing the phrase over and over. As an adult, I like the song because it makes a clear statement.

Reading God’s Word daily, reinforces the great love He has for us Continue reading
