Give God Your Thanks

“God says to give thanks in everything. That doesn’t mean you need to give thanks FOR everything. You don’t need to give thanks FOR that bad day. Or FOR that bad relationship. Or being passed over at work. Financial hardship. Whatever it is – you are not to give thanks FOR the difficulties, but rather IN the difficulties. That is a very important distinction, and one I think we often miss. Giving thanks IN everything shows a heart of faith that God is bigger than the difficulties and that He can use them, if you approach Him with the right heart and spirit, for your good and His glory.”

Jesus Justified The Cross

To understand the significance of The Cross one must imagine the horrific scene on Calvary hill. Calvary, also called Golgotha (meaning skull), was immediately outside Jerusalem’s walls. Calvary is where Jesus hung, where He was crucified – His earthly body nailed to a man-made cross.

In those days of Israel a cross was a means by which convicted criminals were put to death. Crucifixion was perfected by the Roman empire as a manner of execution; the convicted humiliatingly stripped bare then nailed to a cross outside the city walls. They hung in that specific area, until dead, for all who enter the city to gawk and beware.

Who Do You Need To Forgive?

“Forgiveness means to give up our resentment for the omission or commission of something that hurts us. Forgiveness grants relief to the person who “owes” us for what they have done to us or allowed to happen to us. In its most complete form, true forgiveness means we cease to feel resentment against the person who inflected the pain.”

Are You Always Negative?

“I have yet to find that God ever uses a man who is all the time looking on the dark side, and talking about the obstacles and looking at them, and who is discouraged and cast down.”

Did You Lie Today?

The society we live in sets us up to excuse white lies. All you have to do is read the billboards on the highway and watch the commercials on the television; easily half of them include white lies. Sure, there is probably a grain of truth in them, but sometimes it’s a pretty small grain!”

Christians, Pray For America–April 30, 2023

The proclamation was for a Day Of National Humiliation, Fasting, and Prayer, scheduled for April 30, 1863.
