From the very beginning, John was drawn to Jesus. John is represented in the Gospels as being closer to Jesus than any other disciple. He refers to himself as “the disciple Jesus loved.”
John is the son of Zebedee, both are fisherman. Along the shore of the Sea of Galilee they prepared nets in their boat with John’s brother James. After Jesus Christ resurrected, the new church was quick to expand. His new followers called Christians, had the mission of spreading the Good News: Jesus has authority over death! Their greeting to each other reflected this truth.

In six days, God created the world and all that is in it. Human understanding of six days may be different than six days for our Lord, but time clocks are not the issue.
