Do you ever feel empty? I don’t mean empty of food, like the photo of my refrigerator reveals. I’m talking about if you ever wonder what you do in your life is enough.
Rise in the morning. Family, work, chores or obligations during the day. Then more family, more work, more chores or obligations in the evening. Sleep. Rise tomorrow and repeat your yesterday.
Life can get so monotonous – if we choose to let it! Our God gave us a friend to have by our side, to encourage us to remain uplifted during times we may feel empty inside. God knew our lives would not always be filled with “sugar and spice and everything nice.” By filling us with the power of the Holy Spirit, God enables us to work though our dull or low times. He gives us that encouraging nudge we need.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
Living with the Spirit means we have these blessings if we choose to accept them.
We can choose to –
- find love and joy in making the family breakfast, or choose to find it a morning burden.
- offer forbearance and kindness to the the new employee, or choose to loose patience.
- demonstrate goodness and faithfulness to our spouse, or choose to cause conflict.
- display gentleness and self-control during yet another social mishap, or choose to loose our temper.
It is our decision to invite the Holy Spirit to fill-up our life and become a part of our everydayness. If you submit, you will never feel empty again.

Thank you for reading my posts. I love Holy Spirit. It wasn’t until these past few years that I realized how wonderful it is to appreciate and invite Holy Spirit into all aspects of my life.
