Dear Father God,
I recognize your glory. As a Christian, I humbly acknowledge you as Creator of all things past, present, and future. I believe in the Trinity of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. I am eternally thankful for Christ’s blood that was shed on the Cross and through Your mercy and grace it washed away my wretched sins.
As an American citizen, please know I admire this nation You formed. I respect the brave men and women You motivated, who fought to establish this country. The precise structure and composing of our Declaration of Independence was hard fought. And our Constitution affords many liberties and personal rights. I am thankful to be born in a country with these freedoms.
God bless America.
When independence was declared from Great Britain on July 4, 1776, You birthed a new nation. And this baby nation was fully aware of Who its father is.
” We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” — The Declaration of Independence.
Of the 56 men who signed this founding document, nearly half had intensely studied Your Word (24 held seminary or Bible school degrees). Clearly Christian faith was instilled in our Founding Fathers as they referenced You in this historical record.
Lord, I am thankful many Founding Fathers personally spoke reverently of You, including President George Washington:
“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”
During that time the United States Congress also highly respected Your Word, dear God. It took action to approve the use of Bibles in schools in 1782:
“The Congress of the United States recommends and approves the Holy Bible for use in all schools.”
Sadly, I’m sure Congress never imaged 180 years later on June 25, 1962, our United States Supreme Court would side with a group of parents lead by Steven Engel, a Jewish New Yorker, to take prayer out of schools. Then one short year later The Court also banned reading Your Word in public schools altogether. And battles over teaching evolution in schools erupted after Charles Darwin’s evolutionary theory was published.

Lord, I am sorry my government banned against You and continues to battle over You.
But please, Lord, continue to bless America.
Thankfully, history shows there was a time when Supreme Court Justices stood firm on Your Son, as remarked by Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story, Harvard Speech, 1829:
“I verily believe Christianity necessary to the support of civil society. One of the beautiful boasts of our municipal jurisprudence is that Christianity is a part of the Common Law … There never has been a period in which the Common Law did not recognize Christianity as lying its foundations.”
But evil struck again on January 22, 1973, when the Court turned its back on Your unborn babies and issued their decision, a 7-to-2 majority vote in favor of abortion in Roe vs. Wade.

Lord, I am sorry my government chooses not to support being made in Your image.
But please, Lord, continue to bless America.
Then again we ignored You, Oh Lord, when on June 26, 2015, the Court re-wrote the definition of marriage as defined in the Bible. Obergefell v. Hodges says state-level ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional.

Lord, I am sorry my government time and again tries to overpower Your supreme marital plan.
But please, Lord, continue to bless America.
Thankfully, the United States Congress remembered the need to acknowledge You, dear Lord, when they added “In God We Trust” to US coinage in 1864.
“In God We Trust” was also reaffirmed as the national motto in November 2011 when the House of Representatives passed a non-binding resolution (H.Con.Res.13) asserting its status as the U.S. national motto. It did so after President Barack Obama mistakenly referred to “E Pluribus Unum” as our nation’s official motto.
Regretfully, dear Lord, as You know in January 2016, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of several atheist plaintiffs arguing “In God We Trust” displayed on U.S. money is unconstitutional. They continue to fight to have it removed.

Lord, I am sorry we can not surrender to Your superiority and we persist to put You under attack again.
But please, Lord, continue to bless America.
Eight different times, Your 10 Commandments monuments have found their way to court on the premise they are unconstitutionally displayed on public property. Rulings vary as to move them, remove them, or let them stay.

Lord, I am sorry for our disregard to Your very Words that You inscribed with Your own finger.
But please, Lord, continue to bless America.
American government is currently drifting away from You, dear Lord. Though separation from You, as I have shown, is not how we first established this country. We were grounded in You at our birth; the evidence is found throughout our nation’s capital.
A short documentary titled “Read The Walls”, narrated by Jim Engle and curtesy of Coral Ridge Ministries, walks us through a detailed account of religious displays in Washington D.C.. Various Bible verses, religious statues, and beautifully intricate pieces of religious artwork can be found through out our national capital. All created for and to Your glory!
Lord, I’m sure You read one particular reference to You that no grounded by-stander can ever read. “Laus Deo” (Praise be to God – in Latin). This glorifying inscription rests close to You, atop the Washington Monument’s capstone 555 feet high in the sky.
Father God, You know next week Americans stand at a crossroad for Christian freedom. The well-planned Christian liberties and values our forefathers believed in, fought for, and lived by may be voted out if the wrong candidate is elected as our next President.

Lord, Your faithful flock wants to serve only You. Please remember Your Word:
Psalm 86:15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
So please, Lord, continue to bless America and bless Donald Trump as the 45th President of The United States.
