God Exists Above All Else.

There is no one else we can always count on. God is consistently with us. God knows our thoughts, words and deeds. He gives us knowledge to choose right, yet – God is the One who knows the future wrongness of our choices. Through all of this… He still loves us.

“How much does He love me?” you may ask yourself.

God loves us so much, He gave of His Son to die nailed to The Cross. Nailed, whipped and beaten, so that we may live eternally with Him in heaven. A LOVE that poured red down  on Calvary hill.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Because of His sacrificial LOVE, God deserves our praise. True praise from the heart, like we lavish on a best friend who does something special for us. (My best friend and her husband road 150 miles to raise money for MS! Thank you for your perseverance, best-friends!) What a wonderful feeling to have a best friend; someone who takes time to consider our needs and circumstance.

Understand, our LORD offers us even more LOVE and consideration than a best friend because He is always. And His always includes FAITHFULNESS. FAITHFULNESS is in His character. It’s who He is and He can not be any other way.

And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, Exodus 34:6

The noun FAITHFULNESS, can be described by loyalty and trust. By human standards, those two traits are usually required to be earned by someone. But God abounds in LOVE and FAITHFULNESS, no matter our  actions.  Thus, God’s LOVE and FAITHFULNESS overflow to us in GRACE. A gift we can not earn.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

Not because we did for God, or gave to God or earned it like a paycheck from God. No, GRACE is something special that is given by Him for no reason.  To know God is to receive and accept His amazing GRACE. This is how God REIGNS.

And to REIGN is to be regarded as the best and most important. It is to be in charge. If asked to pick the mightiest of nations, we can easily browse through history books during certain time periods and find a list that includes the USA, Rome or Egypt.

But notice the continual change. No country or nation has ruled earth forever. Only God, the Creator of all those mighty nations – always REIGNS above all else.

God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. Psalm 47:8

And why can’t those nations REIGN eternal? Because they are dated with a beginning and an end. They all had a start, and some past great nations such as the Roman Empire, have already disappeared.  But God has no such definition. God, above all on earth and beyond – is IMMEASURABLE.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21
