God Has His Plan

God has His plan.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

We were born with God knowing our future, before we were born. That’s a puzzling statement to understand, but it is true. God knows each of us intimately, long before our first cry at birth.

He made each one of us with a perfect, fingerprint life plan – no two are alike. His desire is that we discover and follow His plan during our time here on earth. That sounds great! I would like to follow a perfect plan for my life. The trouble is, our lives have a way of side tracking His perfect.

Each time we succumb to corrupt social pressure, or allow offensive habits to consume precious hours and days, His perfect plan takes a detour.  Our lifetime of assured prosperity slowly fades away, and hope and a future – they disappear on the road to bad decision making.

Thankfully, God told us He has a plan for each of us, and God is true to His word. It is up to us to follow His way, or decide to proceed on our own with no compass. There will be times when following Him on our journey is not easy – but easy is not what He promised. He promised a plan. A plan that if we follow, it leads to our eternal future.

We choose the direction of our life plan every day. Choosing the correct direction, found in the Bible, is what leads us to eternal life.  Eternal is the key word. It is so important for us to know and understand the difference between a lifetime and eternity. Lifetimes include a beginning and an end. Eternity begins with our end on earth, then goes on – forever. When we follow God’s perfect plan here on earth, whatever it may be,  we gain comfort in knowing it will lead us to eternity, forever, with our Lord.
