Easter is the holiest of celebrated holidays to Christian believers. It is the resurrection of Jesus our savior—the core of Christianity.
Jesus, who was crucified, came back to life three days later.
Through Jesus’ resurrection mankind receives salvation. Our deliverance from sin. To understand this truth, beautifully written, we read God’s word.
God’s word truly is a love letter to mankind.
The Bible is a love letter.
From its beginning, God made a promise. Though we sin and fall short of His glory, He provides a redeemer.
The Bible reveals the coming of this redeemer, Jesus, in the Old Testament. The Old Testament prepares us to open our hearts, and to believe the truth of the New Testament. The New Testament is God’s Word brought to life through our savior Jesus. It describes Him as He actually walked among us.
To learn more about Jesus this Easter, read the following obituary. You too can receive redemption and eternal life simply by believing in His life, death, and resurrection.
Jesus died because He loves us.
Obituary – Jesus Christ
Jesus the Christ, 33, of Nazareth, died Friday on Mount Calvary—also known as Golgotha, the place of the skull. Betrayed by the apostle Judas Iscariot, Jesus was falsely accused of treason and blasphemy by the Jewish religious leaders, then crucified by the Romans by order of the Ruler Pontius Pilate.
The cause of death was beatings, crucifixion, extreme exhaustion, severe torture, suffocation and loss of blood.
Born in the city of Bethlehem, Judea, Jesus the Christ was a descendant of Abraham and a member of the house of David. He was the son of Mary His devoted mother, and His step-father was the late Joseph a carpenter of Nazareth (Jesus often declared, demonstrated and delighted in the fact that His true Father is God.) He is survived by His mother Mary, some half-brothers, His faithful apostles, numerous disciples, and all who believe.
Jesus was self-educated and spent the last three years of His life on earth working as a teacher. Jesus also occasionally worked as a medical doctor, miraculously healing many patients of various diseases, including raising three different persons from the dead. Until the time of His death on the cross, Jesus was teaching about love and sharing the Good News, healing the sick, touching the lonely, feeding the hungry, and helping the poor.
Jesus, noted for telling parables about His true Father’s kingdom, also performed many miracles other than healings such as: feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, walking on water, and calming a storm. On the day before His death, Jesus held the Last Supper celebrating the Passover Feast at which He foretold His death and recapped His teachings to His disciples.
After Jesus’ cruxifixction, His mutilated body was quickly buried in a stone grave donated by Joseph of Arimathea, a secret disciple. By order of Pontius Pilate, a boulder was rolled in front of the tomb. Roman soldiers were also put on guard.
The family of Jesus, His Apostles, and His disciples are telling everyone who has ears to hear that the Good News which Jesus proclaimed during His life did indeed come true after His death!
On the third day after the crucifixion Jesus’ followers discovered the tomb was empty! He had told them He would rise from the dead and true to His Word:
Jesus still lives.
In lieu of flowers the family requests everyone to believe in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ, and, to tell as many people as possible about the love Jesus shares. — Author Unknown

A creative way of re-telling the Easter story. Nicely done.

Thank you. At the bottom I note the original author is unknown. When I stumbled upon this years ago, I tweaked it some to post. Not certain how close it was to the original when I found it. But I like posting it every year.
