“God’s grace does not come to people who morally outperform others, but to those who admit their failure to preform and who acknowledge their need for a Savior.”
– Timothy Keller, The Reason For God (2008)
One can not earn God’s grace. Grace, unlike wages earned for labor or as compliments earned for polite conduct, is a gift from God.
Grace comes only to us, all believers from all nationalities, who have faith in the work Jesus did on the cross.
Jesus willingly shed His blood as the final sacrifice for sin. The final sacrifice for all sin…not just sin committed during His time on earth; rest assured your sin can be forgiven.
God offers grace to all who believe in the sacrificial act of Jesus.
Romans 3: 22-26 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Now is the time to receive God’s grace freely by accepting Jesus Christ as savior for your sin.
ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?
Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com.
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”
Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.

Debra, I appreciate this evangelistic post. There are 1.4 billion souls who belong to one particular institutional church who are taught they must “cooperate with grace” and ultimately merit their salvation.

You and I know we can not earn our way to salvation. No one can. I just visited your About Me page and copied this quote from you, “If going to Heaven is a matter of obeying the Ten Commandments and church rules as Catholicism teaches, then why did Jesus have to die on the cross?” Yep…Jesus’ death perfected the only way to heaven. Mankind has no chance without Him.

Thanks, Debra. The Catholic St. Joseph Baltimore Catechism (for children) states that Jesus’ death on the cross opened the doors to Heaven, but it’s up to each Catholic to walk through the doors via their good works and assisted by sacramental grace.

I’ve never been Catholic so I don’t know their foundation.

I enjoyed reading all your information on the new covenant. Very in-depth. Do you attend DTS? My daughter and son- in- law both graduated from DTS.

I know that you are proud of your daughter and son-law. I watch the DTS videos over and over. If you have looked at the names of my blog references, you will notice many years of maturity among the instructors, many of whom spent much of their lives teaching at DTS. e.g. J Dwight Pentecost, who worked almost until the day that he died, close to age 100.

Ryrie, Walvoord, and others, likewise, have long tenures at DTS, which tells me that they are not there “just for the money, and then moving on,” but are serious about teaching the Bible

Thanks for your comment. I don’t attend DTS, but I have studied the writings of the older instructors and graduates for a long time.
