5 Bible Verses: There Is Peace With God

Peace. Some folks think peace is hard to come by, but as believers, we know different. We know a peace that transcends all understanding; a peace that is always there if one simply believes.

Christian peace comes from Jesus Christ.

Though the world believes otherwise, Christians know Jesus offers peace to the world. We know this to be true because before Jesus was ever born the prophet Isaiah proclaimed the coming of Jesus and acknowledged His holy names: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Jesus can not only offer peace to governments, if they chose to acknowledge Him, He also offers peace to individuals. A calming peace.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

When the Apostle Paul, known to have written at least thirteen of the twenty-seven New Testament books, wrote two letters to the Thessalonian church he made sure to mention God’s peace in each letter at closing. 1 Thessalonians is believed to have been written just twenty years after the resurrection, about AD 50, perhaps making this the earliest of all Paul’s letters.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times sand in every way. The Lord be with all of you.

The Prince of Peace, God of peace, and Lord of peace–all one in the same. All names given to Him who died for our sin so that mankind may be justified, saved, redeemed. If anyone has faith in our savior Jesus Christ, then know that peace with God comes through Him.

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we  boast in the hope of the glory of God.
