AMERICA – Meditate On The Mighty Word Of God

The Bible tells us we should meditate on God’s law, but what does it mean to meditate? Often, people think of meditation as chanting, an act of trying to relax their body and mind. Chanting is popular in some forms of yoga. But meditation also has another meaning. Not to simply relax–but to focus. To focus one’s mind on one specific thing; thinking deeply about that topic for a period of time while trying to come to an understanding of its true meaning.

America, we could certainly benefit from some deeper thinking of the Bible in Washington D.C. right now.

Scripture frequently mentions meditating on the teachings and laws of God. As we think more qualitative thoughts, and reflect on what we believe His word signifies, we can better understand the importance of living righteously and following the truth of the lessons God shares with us in the Bible.

Joshua was a military leader who was faithful to God. Joshua listened to and trusted God. He was obedient to God, and through his obedience to following God, Joshua was successful in his battles. America, we can emulate Joshua’s success by following his example to worship and reverence our mighty God.

Joshua 1:8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Just as Joshua was blessed during his life following God, our country can also be blessed by following the laws of the LORD. And the only way to know what God’s laws are is to spend time in His word–to think more qualitative thoughts, reflecting on His message then apply it to ourselves, our families, and to our government.

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night.

Apply God’s law to our families.

When we accept the concept of Perfect Law over what society deems important, we will prosper. Think of the beauty and benefits of America prospering. Love between races, between brothers and sisters of different nationalities. Love creates unity in families, the workplace, and will even create desire for politicians to reach across the isle for common causes. America needs acceptance of Perfect Law for blessings to happen.

James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

America, it’s not too late to turn back to God. As long as we have breath our nation can come together as One Nation Under God, confess our transgressions, and ask forgiveness for our sinful ways. We need only remember the Bible is filled with stories of God’s forgiveness to the nation of Israel. As a loving Father who also created our beautiful nation, God is also sure to forgive us just as He forgave the Israelites. He is also sure to bless us with prosperity.

Psalm 143:5-8 I remember the days of long ago; I meditate on all your works and consider what your hands have done. I spread out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land. Answer me quickly, LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit. Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.

Take Bible notes.

Jesus’ words are perfect when He speaks of the word of God. Each word from the Bible is truth. The original Hebrew words Jesus originally spoke has even deeper in meaning than our standard English. But all versions require attention–meditation–to fully comprehend the meaning. Take notes to help you centralize ideas if you like. Each verse, each chapter in the Bible requires qualitative thoughts and reflection. Once America, again, stands firm on God’s word, no weapon formed against us, or within us, will prosper.

Matthew 4:4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’

Please pray for America today. Confess our sin of removing God from our families, workplaces, government, and even our churches. Ask for forgiveness that we have distorted His word to fit our lifestyle instead of us choosing to obey and live by His laws.

Then remember the words spoken by Joshua to “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

If you’re not certain you’ve ever invited Jesus into your heart, now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com. Through Jesus you will receive the hope that He alone offers.

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”
