When we trust God’s promises He made to us in the Bible, we trust He is always in control. That control reigns over our tough situations as well as our easy ones. Yes, I know especially today, we may not understand the “why” in tough situations. Especially those situations God allows evil to reek havoc and turn our world upside down.
But perhaps the havoc was created by mankind’s own selfish doing. Or perhaps the havoc is to help us learn a lesson. Quite possibly God may just be saying, “Ok, you show no faith in Me nor do you seek Me out, so go ahead and figure things out for yourself.”
In order to get through these tough times it’s good to remember what God told us about His comfort.
As a Christian, I believe there’s no comfort in any dark situation unless I turn to God for that comfort. The Bible tells us dark situations will always be around until Jesus returns; we still live on earth not in heaven.
So how do we navigate tough situations, havoc, or a world turned upside down? By standing firm on God’s word.
1.God will not abandon.
Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
2. God’s might is within.
Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
3. God gives strength.
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
4. God’s love is.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
5. God gives peace.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
6. God remains.
Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
7.God sent Jesus to overcome for all.
John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Are you follower of Jesus?
If you are not certain you’ve ever invited Jesus into your heart, now is the perfect time to do so. You can get to know Him better and feel the comfort He alone offers.
Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com, and you will feel the love of God in action:
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”

Yes! It is amazing, when we consider how much opposition is in the world toward Christ.
