Crowds Crave More Jesus!

Crowds crave more Jesus

Post #10 – As Reported From The Book Of Luke

BREAKING — It has been reported the seventy-two messengers sent out by the Lord to prepare The Way have returned! All confirm demons submit to them in the name of Jesus. Their victory includes the security of each messenger’s name is written in heaven.

The report also indicated the Son is full of joy through the Holy Spirit. He praised His Father for giving power and knowledge to “little children”, as apposed to the “wise and learned”.

Learning The Term Good Samaritan.

Persistent with previous actions, The Teacher continues to teach Jews. He conveys the story of the parable of a man robbed, beaten and left for dead. Subsequently, a priest walks past the broken man’s body as well as a Levite (also thought of as godly since the Levi tribe assisted in the Jewish temple).

Contrary to an expected outcome from the two men noted, the unexpected hero in this story turns out to be a forth coming unidentified Samaritan man. (Locals know Jews and Samaritans despise each other because the latter is a mixed race.)

The Good Samaritan bandaged the wounds of the injured man and took him to an inn. The Innkeeper noted the Samaritan even paid all expenses at the establishment.  Jesus indicates the disliked Samaritan – who actually helped, is the true neighbor to the victim. Not the known-to-be religious men.

Serving Sisters In Bethany.

Amid His engaging travel schedule, Jesus recently visited the home of sisters Martha and Mary in Bethany. Martha, known for her homemaking handiwork, was found to be distracted that Mary did not help with the preparations. Notably, Mary sat at Jesus’ feet listening to Him speak while Martha accomplished all the work.

Martha, upon questioning the Lord in regards to Mary’s actions, received this reply from Jesus:  “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

It seems Mary’s choice of listening to the The Teacher is vital to The Teacher and to Mary, due to the fact Jesus continues to state He will not be of this earth for long.

Jesus Is A Prayer Warrior.

post-10-6

Continuing with His constant pattern of prayer, it was noted the disciples now desire to be taught how to pray. Witnesses reveal Jesus’ instructions are as follows: “When you pray, say: “ ’Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation.

Jesus’ follow-up to His prayer instructions include the need to seek and ask His Father persistently. He states it is the action of persistence in prayer that helps our minds understand our needs.

Crowds.

Still followed by crowds, Jesus recently drove a demon out of a mute. Those same crowds have accused The Healer of using the power of beelzebul (satan) to remove the demon. Jesus was quick to point out He drives out demons by the finger of God.

More crowds follow as The Teacher warns of the perils of unbelief. Those people will be condemned. The Teacher further explained this certainty by describing Truth as light, and all are to share Jesus’ light with others.

Pharisees’ Dinner Not What They Expected.

Though his intentions are not revealed by Dr. Luke in his book, a Pharisee invited Jesus to dinner at his home. It is noted, however, how the Pharisee immediately questioned Jesus’ neglect to wash before dining. Israelites concur this practice was originally intended for priests as a symbol of purification. Pharisees have taken on the action as a public show for their own benefit.

Jesus swiftly called them out to their core, citing their showy ways of:

  • Cleaning cups
  • Giving a tenth of their herbs
  • Taking the most important seats
  • Loading unnecessary laws of God upon the people
  • Killing and burying prophets
  • Making God’s laws complicated

It is not known whether the meal was completed, but is it confirmed Jesus at some point went outside. It was there the Pharisees and the teachers of the law began to oppose him fiercely and to besiege him with questions, waiting to catch him in something he might say.

Crowds Increase To Hear The Teacher Speak.

Records indicate the crowd following The Teacher increased to thousands. Many report being trampled by another. Experts reveal Jesus then warned against hypocrisy from the Pharisees. Explaining what they have whispered in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed from the roofs.

Jesus then shared a vital statement of utmost importance to the eternity of our souls:

“I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
