Prayer Changes Things – So Pray Often And With Confidence.
God has a plan for our country. But He likes hearing our input! The Bible tells us we are to be in constant communication with God-
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Just like your best friend loves to hear how you are doing and what your needs are, God, though omniscient in His eternal loving manner, still desires us to tell Him about our lives. This includes being thankful in all things while presenting our wants and concerns.
During this election season the need for Christians to follow God’s will of prayer is crucial.
Biblical history reveals Paul, the greatest missionary who lived and writer of 1 Timothy, urged Christians to pray for their leaders. Paul wrote this letter to Timothy around A.D. 51-52. At the time of the writing, the notoriously evil emperor Nero (A.D. 54-68) was in charge.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Praying for our leaders does not mean we are worshipping them.
Far from it! Leaders are human, having many faults and sins just like we do. The prayers are for our officials in power to recognize and carry out God’s law. Asking they do what is best for our people and nation; to establish law and order not just in all the classes but also in the ranks of those conditioned to believe they are above the law.
“If Christians will just pray, show up at the polls and vote, we can make a difference for the future of our children and grandchildren. Far too many Christians have been guilty of sitting out the elections and not even voting.” – Franklin Graham
Pastor Franklin Graham knows the power of prayer and has faith in a God who creates miracles. Pastor Graham is constantly encouraging others to walk in their faith and to make that happen for this election, he organized the Decision America Tour 2016:
Franklin Graham is traveling to all 50 states in 2016 to hold prayer rallies, to preach the Gospel, and to challenge believers to take a stand and take action. He’ll be urging Christians to vote, to live out their faith in every part of their lives, and to pray for our nation just as Nehemiah cried out to God to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and restore hope to His people.
When we pray for what we perceive to be correct election results from God, that doesn’t mean God will magically place our candidate into the White House. Confident prayer incites action on our part. This action should consist of thorough candidate history research, which can then open our minds to truth, thus we acknowledge God’s will through our votes.
No candidate is perfect.
Human perfection came only once upon this earth and that was in the embodiment of Jesus Christ. And until He returns, let’s just set aside the idea that we will ever have “The” perfect presidential candidate. What we have in 2016 is Mr Donald Trump, a man willing to give up the profitable job of running million dollar companies. For love of country he has instead decided to take on many daunting tasks. A partial list includes:
- re-establishing law and order
- fighting for the unborn’s right to life
- protecting faith based institutions and individuals
- putting Americans back to work
- reduce wasteful spending
- end EPA intrusions on family homes and farms
- urging for reversal of the redefined definition of marriage
- cut taxes
- patrolling our borders and building a secure border wall with Mexico
- instituting better health care
- strengthening our military.
Mr. Trump is also endorsed by:
- 1.1Federal officials and state governors
- 1.2State officials
- 1.3Municipal officials
- 1.4Diplomats and bureaucrats
- 1.5Other politicians
- 1.6International political figures
- 1.7Notable individuals
- 1.9Newspapers, magazines, and other media
- 1.10National organizations
- 1.11Political parties
Christians, it is true we do not have a Bible teacher running for President of the United States. But I am thankful to have a man who is not afraid to speak what many Americans are thinking, and proposing actions that many U.S. citizens agree need to take place in order to make America great again.
God hears prayer. So ask for His loving hand to stop America from being pushed further and further to the liberal left.
Let’s make America great again. Pray often and with confidence that our conservative republican candidate, Donald Trump, will become the 45th president of these United States. And be thankful, always thankful, that God reigns supreme.
Psalm 47:8 God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.
