Pray For President Elect Trump

“While women weep, as they do now, I’ll fight. While little children go hungry, as they do now, I’ll fight. While men go to prison, in and out, in and out, as they do now, I’ll fight. While there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girl upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I’ll fight. I’ll fight to the very end!” – William Booth, Preacher and Founder of Salvation Army

William Booth had a heart for the less fortunate, for those suffering in poverty. That’s why he founded the Salvation Army; Booth wanted to help others. He had a heart for God.

Having a heart for God means obedience to God. The heart tells us – we sense, perceive, understand – there are definitive rights and wrongs. This sensing is good. It comes from a relationship with God. A relationship that knows God is in control and all beings live by His grace and mercy. Man does not live because of our own merit. Man lives because of God.

William Booth did a wonderful thing: he founded the Salvation Army to help Americans who were suffering. He did this by having a relationship with God, by sensing what is right then following through with a positive plan.

Today’s new leaders, men and women who have that same power, can significantly do great things for suffering Americans just as William Booth did. And they have that power by God’s grace and mercy.

The election clearly declared Donald Trump as America’s president elect. Now, Mr. Trump needs America’s help in keeping his heart open to God. That’s because the forces of evil will be out in full force the whole time Trump sits in the Oval Office. Evil is not a fan of God’s grace and mercy.

Today, and for the next four years, may we offer prayer on Trump’s behalf. Pray for Trump’s mental protection that it remains focused. Pray Trump will claim obedience to fulfill God’s word, be a faithful follower and have an obedient heart for God. Pray that Trump obeys God’s commands.

The Bible declares in Deuteronomy the blessings God will bestow on those that follow His commands:

DEUTERONOMY 28:1-13 If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:

You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you.

The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

These last four years have been tough. Americans have suffered. We need leadership who stands in prayer and desires to be surrounded in prayer.

Donald Trump, as our next president, has promised to do his part and to fight, fight, fight for America. So let us, Christians in America, do our part by covering Donald Trump with prayer.

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”

Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.
