Invite God In

“To have a nodding acquaintance with the Creator of the universe is no small thought. But to be on intimate terms with Him is enough to give us heart flutters for the rest of our lives. – Joy Dawson, Intimate Friendship With God

God loves you, created and sustains you. He desires an intimate relationship with you. However, as with any relationship, a connection–an alliance with that person–does not even exist unless there is reciprocation. Reciprocation means acknowledgment back to Him. A profession to follow God, to worship His holy name. God wants us to always think of Him just as He always thinks of us. He wants an intimate relationship. He wants to be invited into our lives.

God is worthy of the invitation!

An invitation to invite God in need not be fancy. It simply requires sincerity – sincerity of the heart. Sincerity is genuine, it’s honest and truthful; all righteous qualities of God. In truth, being children of God means we already have these characteristics of God within us. It’s just that once we invite God in those characteristics are more visible. We now reflect Him to others and this pleases God.

Being a reflection of God shows the world we no longer put self first. Instead, we do what God does, we put others first. We put their needs before our own, sometimes even sacrificing ourselves in order to show our love.

Any sacrifice we demonstrate is a reflection of God because that’s what God did for us. He gave His one and only son as a sacrifice that whoever should believe in Him would have eternal life.

Jesus gave Himself…for us…that we might have a forever relationship with Him. Jesus, the son of God who hung on the cross, is the meaning of sacrifice. God gave us His son to draw us closer to Himself so that we may be, “on intimate terms with Him”, reflecting who He is to others on earth.

JAMES 4:5-8 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Invite God in. You will benefit from an intimate relationship with Jesus. You will also be the light to others in Jesus’ name.

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”

Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.
