“The awareness of God’s presence energizes us for our work.” – Dr. Charles Stanley
Many of us often forget God is with us each day. We seem to assume the Creator of the all things, the Savior of all people, our Giver of spiritual gifts, has more important things to attend to other than being present in everyday life.
We assume wrong.
Throughout the books of the Bible, God’s word informs us His presence is with us always. He offers strength, courage, safety, comfort, relief, love, trust. We find statements referencing these traits made either directly from God to one of His servants (in this case that servant is Joshua), or, the LORD speaks through the writer of the books to us.
God’s presence does not leave us dull. As Charles Stanley said, “God’s presence energizes us…”.
JOSHUA 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
The book of Psalms has many authors. King David, a man who went through many highs and lows in his life always acknowledged God around him; David authored this psalm.
PSALM 23 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Isaiah is considered God’s greatest prophet. His testimony to God’s word is fearless. His ministry lasted sixty years. He was a courageous man who served the Lord and God gave Isaiah visions of Himself seated on his heavenly throne.
ISAIAH 41:9-10 I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, 'You are my servant'; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Zephaniah, also a prophet of God, shares with us God takes great delight in being with His children.
ZEPHANIAH 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."
Hebrews, a book in the New Testament, its author unknown. It speaks of the superiority and sufficiency of Christ. We need nothing more than to focus on Jesus, the cross, the resurrection. It’s when one believes in the superiority and sufficiency of Christ that faith understands…God is always with us.
HEBREWS 13:5-6 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?"
Feel the energy. Understand and believe: God is always with us.
ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?
Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com.
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”
Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.
