ISRAEL – God’s Holy Land

“It is vitally important, therefore, that Christians become faithful in praying for the peace of Jerusalem every day, visit and tour Israel while they still can, and find new and creative ways to show Israel and the Jewish people how much the church loves and cares for them.” – Joel Rosenberg, Epicenter

Joel Rosenberg has dual U.S.-Israeli citizenship and lives in Jerusalem with his wife. He is an expert on Jerusalem and speaks weekly on the Rosenberg Report which airs on TBN. His books have sold over 5 million copies world wide. In 2006, he founded The Joshua Fund, a non-profit educational and charitable organization to mobilize Christians to “bless Israel and her neighbors in the name of Jesus, according to Genesis 12:1-3.”

Rosenberg continues to share the importance of Christians helping the Jewish nation, standing firm to support and protect Israel. Why is this important? Because the land of Israel, God’s chosen land, is the land God gave to His chosen people.

God gave this land, the Promised Land, the land formerly known as Canaan, to the Jewish nation. God did so after He freed the Jews from Egyptian slavery and after the passing of Moses. God gave the land to the Jewish nation, Israel, as an inheritance to them under the new leadership of Joshua. The land of Canaan belonged to God and the Jews inherited it from God.

This great land, the Promised Land, is named after Jacob, son of Issac, grandson of Abraham (the father of the Jewish nation), whom God renamed Israel. God said to Jacob, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel. ” Since Jacob was renamed Israel, when the Jewish nation – the children of Israel – settled in Canaan, they were now Israelites and the land is Israel.

God owned Canaan. God gave the Jews Canaan. Canaan became Israel, home to decedents of Abraham

Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, is an historic city. It is a holy city, a beautiful city where Jesus was welcomed with palms yet was wrongfully convicted and crucified. Jerusalem still remains God’s city, home to Jews and Christians alike.

As the terror in Israel continues, pray for leadership in America that does not fail Israel. Pray for the UN to condone war. Pray for the land of Israel to remain united under its strong leadership, the land God gave His chosen people.

PSALM 122:6-7 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels."

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”

Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.

  1. My trip to Israel was profound. It’s true, if we don’t continue visiting holy sites, we may not be allowed to go there. On the other hand, the genocide of the Muslim people is disturbing. When we were in the West Bank, the Israel control over the Muslims was evident. They also have a powerful faith that they are trying to preserve.
