“The Bible is God’s book of promises, and unlike the books of men, it does not change or get out of date.”
– Reverend Billy Graham
The Bible, the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, has not changed its message or its meaning since its verses were originally inscribed–even though man tries his best to alter the Bible’s content.
Through the ages man has continued to alter the understanding of the Bible’s word, refashioning the meaning of its messages to suit ourselves. Ignoring Biblical truths, man has chosen to reframe societal norms, changing etiquette practices. Man’s discernment to interpret God’s Word has incorrectly shifted, putting ourselves above Him. In other words man, through the ages, has worked to change God’s word.
These actions to change the Bible are self serving. They are selfishly caused by man, not by our flawless God. God’s word is perfect. God is perfect. God, in His love for us, gave instruction on how we should live together, on how we should love one another.
As God does not change, neither does His Word, which is one and the same. God and His Word are inseparable, unable to be altered. There is nothing more beautiful than to read His exact words as, “It is written” in the Bible. Everything about God and His Word is perfection, and any foolish attempt to override God’s authoritative word will fail.
The Bible speaks truth about creation, about the history of the Jewish nation, about the coming of Jesus, and about the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus himself spoke truth as He taught His disciples about God’s message and kingdom.
Jesus himself is God, is the Word, as recorded in the book of John, the fourth book of the gospels.
NUMBERS 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
The Bible does not change means God’s word does not change; you can count on God’s word at all times. If you need peace read: Philippians 4:6-7. If you need strength read: 2 Corinthians 12:9. If you need encouragement read: Isaiah 41:10.
The Bible is always here for us, through all of life’s situations. The Bible is steady, honorable, trustworthy. The Bible does not change.
ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?
Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com.
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”

Praise God, He doesn’t change, and neither does His word. If you can find nothing else to be grateful for, this is the essence of something to be grateful for. Thank you for sharing.

I agrée with all you say about the Bible wholeheartedly. But where does it command us to “invite Jesus into our heart”? Surely Acts 2:37-38 is the true way of salvation.

Yes, Acts 2:38 tells us to repent. When we repent our sin to Jesus, acknowledging His power on the cross saves us, we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Acts 2:1-4, Acts 10::44-48, Acts 19:1-6 (refer Ephesians 1:13-14) and Isaiah 28:11-12 (quoted by Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:21). May God bless your understanding.

Thank you for sharing your point of view, and your references to Acts. I, however, do not believe it is necessary to speak in tongues to show receiving the Holy Spirit or to receive salvation. If we look at Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” and Acts 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” tells us salvation comes from Jesus, with no reference to the necessity that one speaks in tongues. But I thank you for your comments.

How do you worship in Spirit then? Jude 20, 1 Corinthians 14:2, 14. Mark 16:15-20. How do you know you have the Holy Spirit?

I believe the nanosecond I professed Jesus as my savior, the split second I-by faith-claimed Jesus as the Son of God who died on the cross then rose from the dead, that very instant, the Holy Spirt entered my heart. I became God’s adopted daughter entitled to HIs inheritance. Submitting to the Spirit, understanding what He leads me to do, is an ongoing Christian walk that leads me into a better relationship with Jesus, which leads me to better here and understand Holy Spirit…

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5, KJV) Acts 16:31 doesn’t mention baptism either! God bless

Oh, there is much information on salvation. It’s really hard for us to each just pick and choose a verse or two on the subject. The Bible tells us we are not saved by works, it is Jesus – faith in Jesus, believe in Jesus, confess Jesus. Baptism, is not Jesus, it is a works. I can tell you read your Bible, you know scripture, and I pray you, as well as I, that we both continue drawing closer to Jesus.

Baptism is not a “work”. It’s obedience to Jesus’ commandment. It’s a burial. No point burying the old life unless you are expecting to receive a new one. John the Baptist said Jesus would baptise us un the Holy Ghost and fire! Now that’s an experience! Even the devils “believe” and tremble. I’m not taking one scripture in isolation. If I’d been one of the 3000 on the day of Pentecost who were baptised and I hadn’t spoken in tongues as the disciples I would have thought something was missing ! What about the whole armour ofGod – Ephesians 6
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” (Ephesians 6:18, KJV)
And John 7
Jhn 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Jhn 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Jhn 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
And if you have not been baptised (by full immersion) you won’t make the first resurrection
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4, KJV)
“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:” (Romans 6:5, KJV)
May God bless your understanding. It’s a narrow gate and few enter in. Just study all the scriptures I’ve quoted with an open mind.
