Claim it – Christ Died For Me!

“The next time the devil tempts you to think that you are not worthy to approach God, here is what I advise: Agree. Say, “You are right. I am not worthy to approach God. I never was worthy to approach God. I never will be worthy to approach God. My access to God’s presence is not based on my worthiness, it is based on what Christ did for me on the cross.”

Greg Laurie

It’s not unusual for the devil to tempt us into believing we are less than worthy. He does it all the time:

  • I can’t go to church until I stop my negative habit.
  • I’m unable to pray because God knows my sin.
  • I’ll never understand the Bible, so why read it?

The goal of the devil is to remove us as far away from Jesus as possible. But the trouble with that goal is – Jesus’ death on the cross keeps us close to Him at all times.

Jesus’s death on the cross provides access to God.

No negative habit. . .drinking, porn, anger. . .is a barricade stronger than Jesus’ death on the cross. Jesus is the way, the truth and the light, and His crucifixion breaks all barricades.

Sin can’t keep you from God. Yes, God does know our sin. There is no way to hide it, in fact He knows our sin before we commit it. He just wants us to realize He is there, waiting to hear our confession. No one on earth is sinless, except when Jesus was amongst us. The devil’s temptations are evil. Repent of your sin in prayer and accept Jesus’ death on the cross as His forever love for you.

The Bible is God’s love letter to us. From beginning to end, it’s the story of Jesus’ coming to redeem us, to die in our place, convicted of our sin. Jesus chose to do this because He loves us so much. Jesus’ death on the cross, as explained in the Bible, allows us access to God no matter what the devil says.

The fact is – Jesus loves you. He took your sin upon Himself to the cross so that you may forever be in the presence of God.

JOHN 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”

Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.

  1. I’m happy to say I’m 100% on board this one with you. It reminds me of a post I did back in March of 2016, the only one I did that calendar year. Its titled FAKE GRAND CANYON. I used Susan Ashton’s song Grand Canyon, which I love, as the premise. When we feel so far from Him, its just an illusion as we are NEVER far from Him. It just feels that way.
