Confess – God Will Forgive You

“God’s forgiveness unlike man’s has no limits and anyone no matter their sinful condition can obtain forgiveness of their sin if they truly repent.” – Rev. Samuel Zulu

In ancient times, for sin to be forgiven by God required work. God specified His chosen people, the Jews, make animal sacrifices to atone for their sin. A perfect, flawless animal – a sheep, dove – was selected as the sacrifice. The Jew making the atonement placed his hand on the animal’s head, symbolically transferring his sins to the animal, as the Levite priest slaughtered the animal. The priest then took the blood and splashed it on the sides of the alter, and arranged and burned certain parts of the animal on the alter. This was how God instructed the Israelites to make amends for their offenses. What a lot of work and what a lot of mess.

Today, atonement for sin is easier; no more blood shed is necessary. Not because the sacrificing was messy, but because Christ’s blood was the final sacrifice for all on the Cross. The flawless Jesus, not flawless sheep, paid the final price for sin. Now, instead of placing our hand on an animal’s head to symbolically transfer our sin, we must humbly admit to God we committed sin, repent, and ask His forgiveness.

It is a choice to bring our sin to God. A choice, freewill, given to us from God. Just like the Israelites brought an animal to God for their atonement we must bring ourselves to God in prayer. We must choose to humbly confess and repent in order to receive His mercy. And God, in His love, offers His mercy upon us.

Though He overflows with both mercy and grace, mercy is different from grace. No action on our part is required to receive God’s grace. We don’t even have to ask for grace He simply gives it freely. However, in order to receive God’s mercy there must first be sin (and there is always sin). Yes, we deserve punishment for the sin, however God chooses not to punish when He offers mercy for our offering of confession and repentance.

In order to receive God’s mercy, His forgiveness – Confess and repent of your sins each day.

Christians, remember the Word of God. Do not permit entertainment, society, friends or relatives to influence us into misunderstanding His Word.Remember to keep focused on the name of God, His mercies and grace granted throughout the Bible. God will do the same for you; God will forgive you.

If confessing sin and asking for forgiveness is not part of your daily routine – Now Is The Time To Start!

You still have the choice to turn your wrong doing over to God. As long as you have breath in your lungs you still have time. But, (and this is a big but!) after you pass, you have no choice. It will be too late. After you pass you have consequences to pay, you have no second chance.

God is holy, perfect and pure. He gives mankind freewill. He gives us the opportunity, for our lifetime, to confess sin, repent sin, then His promise is to forgive sin. The decision is up to you.

1 JOHN 1:8-10 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

Confess. God will forgive you.
