Are you in need? – Jehovah-Rapha – “The Lord Who Heals”

Believers, if you are suffering through a trying time right now please know: We serve a LORD who heals. Be it emotional suffering, mental trauma, physical pain or disease…our LORD heals!

Jehovah-Rapha is Hebrew for “The Lord Who Heals”. In truth, because of God’s extensive and unique character, we find many names throughout the Bible used for the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob – the God of Israel. Many names which reveal God is eternal, is righteous, and has deep love for mankind.

Jehovah-Rapha is a special name, in that it evokes God’s power over evil that may envelop us…try to control us, inflict pain upon us.

This holy name of God, Jehovah-Rapha, was first used by God Himself as He speaks to the Israelites while they wander the desert and find a pond with bitter water. God “heals” the water, proving to the Israelites He can heal anything. He also promises to keep them free from diseases He brought upon their captors the Egyptians – if they follow His way.

EXODUS 15:26 He said, "If you listen carefully to the Lord your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you."

God showed the Israelites He heals by restoring the bitter water, and, He told them He is, “The Lord Who Heals”.

If you are in need of a healing, read the following verses. The Lord Who Heals can heal what hurts: Emotionally (Psalm 34:18), Mentally (Daniel 4:34), Physically (2 Kings 5:10), Spiritually (Psalm 103:2–3).

I cried out to Jehovah-Rapha fifteen years ago in thankfulness to lead me to stand against my MS. He does! It was four years ago I cried out to Jehovah-Rapha to heal my daughter’s suffering of achalasia. He did! Now, I cry out to Jehovah-Rapha to heal my son-in-law from a brain mass which was found last week. I know God’s history…I know over and over God heals. As a family, we stand firm and pray in the faithfulness of God, believing in Jehovah-Rapha, “The Lord Who Heals”.

PSALM 103:2-5  Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
