“The more we try to gather the control of our lives, the more everything in our lives falls apart. God did not create us to control; He created us to live in agreement.” – David Edwards, The God Of Yes
There are definitely times one feels government, doctors, family – even the church – they all create chaos in life. However, one must remember, God is in control.
God never forsakes us. God is bigger than all things combined; His plan is perfect.
Remember the Israelites? They grumbled while being lead from slavery, yet God made a way. They grumbled about overtaking the new land God had already promised as theirs, yet God made a way. Despite their continual failings to trust God’s control of the situation, He made a way for His beloved Jewish people again and again.
Over and over God’s people gave up hope because they could not see His holy plan. Yet God, always in control, continued His perfect plan, remaining beside them while bringing them through hard times.
Are you guilty of following the grumbling footsteps of Israel?
I know I’m guilty of complaining. I complain about Washington DC, America’s medical practices, family interactions, and religious policy. Though my grumbling on these matters, just as the grumblings of the Jews, does not change circumstances. Only God changes circumstances. That’s because God is in control.
If you’re complaining as I do, please know God is at work right now for us. Like His beloved children Israel, we too are His beloved children. God is here with us everyday making a way.
ISAIAH 41:8-10 “But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend, I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
It’s not because we deserve anything from God. He simply gives. His very words give assurance of His power and hope for our future.
ISAIAH 43:16-21 This is what the LORD says— he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. The wild animals honor me, the jackals and the owls, because I provide water in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland, to give drink to my people, my chosen, the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.
Christians remember…God is in control. He has the perfect plan and He alone is love unconditionally. Ask Him for His strength to envelope you if you are going through chaotic times, and know that just as He was with the Israelites, He is also with you.

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior.
