There is a grass roots prayer effort happening across our country. It is inspired from the efforts of an advisor to Prime Minister Winston Churchill during WWII.

W. Tudor Pole, an English author, was that advisor to Churchill. It was Pole’s idea to encourage Britain, during that difficult time of war, to pray for the safety of England, its people, and peace each night. The chosen time was 9 PM during the chiming of Big Ben, which took about one minute. 

Churchill supported the idea,  along with King George VI, his Parliamentary Cabinet and their country’s citizens who believed in the power prayer. What a beautiful testament to faith in God.

America, as a country founded on Judeo-Christian values, let us duplicate Pole’s idea. Let us unite together by corporately praying each night for one minute for our nation.

Each night at 9 PM Eastern, 8 PM Central, 7 Mountain, and 6 Pacific, stop whatever you are doing and spend 1 minute in prayer specifically for our nation.

Pray with confidence God will: redeem our government, protect our troops, engage our citizens in righteousness, bring peace, oversee elections, restore biblical principles to Washington DC, retain biblical principles as the basis for laws in our land and, for Christianity to flourish abundantly in the United States of America.

Pray that America glorifies God.

Just as England specifically and corporately prayed during a dire time of need pray tonight, and every night, at the allotted time in your time zone. Pray that God intervenes and places His hedge of protection around us from all evil, be it foreign or domestic.

9 PM Eastern – 8 PM Central

7 PM Mountain – 6 PM Pacific

Set your alarm in advance so that each night you won’t miss your minute of prayer. Prayer calls out to God that we acknowledge and need Him.

May His power over the sins of mankind leave us speechless from His bountiful blessings to us.

EXODUS 15:7-13 “In the greatness of your majesty you threw down those who opposed you. You unleashed your burning anger; it consumed them like stubble. By the blast of your nostrils the waters piled up. The surging waters stood up like a wall; the deep waters congealed in the heart of the sea. The enemy boasted, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake them. I will divide the spoils; I will gorge myself on them. I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.’ But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters.

Who among the gods is like you, LORD? Who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? “You stretch out your right hand, and the earth swallows your enemies. In your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed. In your strength you will guide them to your holy dwelling.
