“The resurrection of Jesus changes the face of death for all His people. Death is no longer a prison, but a passage into God’s presence. Easter says you can put truth in a grave, but it won’t stay there.”
– Clarence W. Hall
The resurrection of Jesus Christ, His once dead body brought back to life, is a truth that cannot be denied.
He first appeared to Mary Magdalene when she came to anoint Jesus’ body with spices at the grave where Jesus was laid. He then appeared to the women who were with her, Mary The Mother Of James, Salome, and Joanna. These women worshiped Him and touched His feet.
Privately, Jesus then appeared to His apostle Peter.
Jesus then appeared and spent time with two men walking on the road to Emmaus. They had seen the crucifixion in Jerusalem.
Later that evening Jesus appeared to ten of His disciples in a room that was locked. Thomas, and Judas the betrayer who had hanged himself, were absent.
Eight days later Jesus appeared to those same ten men, but this time Thomas was present in the room.
Another time, Jesus manifested Himself to seven disciples while at the Sea Of Galilee.
Sometime later Jesus appeared to 500 people at once, then to His brother James alone, then to the apostles again. Jesus made all of these appearances in the forty days He spent on earth before His ascension to heaven.
All these appearances of Jesus in the flesh committed His disciples to share the Good News of Jesus, to the point where they died for the truth of His divinity. All but apostle John were killed in the name of Jesus as they shared Him with others. Those disciples could not/would not deny who Jesus is, and neither should we.
For those who believe in Jesus’ death on the cross… then resurrection from the grave… that Jesus is God in the flesh who died for all sin… there is hope. There is life after death when you believe in Jesus.
HEBREWS 9:15 For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
