Faith Over The Situation

“Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole stair case.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

A version of the word faith appears more than four hundred times in the Bible. God, in His word, is sending a clear message that faith is important in our continuing Christian walk.

  • Faith – complete trust or confidence in someone or something
  • Faithful – loyal, constant and steadfast
  • Faithfully – in a loyal manner
  • Faithfulness – the quality of being faithful; fidelity

God welcomes those who have faith in Him.

Each faithful step we take, in complete confidence in our Maker, offers our fidelity to Him. We are loyal to Him.

God blesses those who are loyal to Him. God shows abundant mercy to those who live faithfully in His presence. Abraham, Noah, Rahab, and Moses are examples of those, in Biblical times, who lived by faith. They did not know the ending to their situation–for sure–but they knew God.

Abraham, who prepared the sacrifice of his own son for God, was stopped by God at the last minute. God stopped the sacrifice because of Abraham’s faith.

Noah built an ark. Though Noah had no real understanding why the ark was needed, he still built the ark because he had faith in what God told him to do.

Rahab helped spies of Israel escape certain death. Rahab gave her assistance because she had faith God is God.

Moses, in faith God would save his people, continued in service to God till his own death.

Faith inspires people to do great things. Not by one’s own might, but because God is with us as we live in that faith. Living in faith is important. Believers know God is good, and He does not withhold that goodness from believers. And, our action of faith also Lifts Him Up. It offers the King of the universe praise.

Praise God for all who live by faith. In doing so we acknowledge God’s supremacy. We acknowledge His might through situations, even thought we can’t see the final outcome.

Faith knows God is in control.

MATTHEW 17:14-20 When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. "Lord, have mercy on my son," he said. "He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him."

"You unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me." Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment. Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, "Why couldn't we drive it out?" He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

Ask God for faith over your situation.

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”
