This Christmas, Keep The Light Of Christ Burning

“We need to give Christ a chance to make use of us, to be His word and His work, to share His food and His clothing in the world today. If we do not radiate the light of Christ around us, the sense of the darkness that prevails in the world will increase.”

Mother Teresa

The Son of God, born of a virgin woman, came to us as the light of the world. During His short three year ministry on earth, He demonstrated to mankind He is the removal of darkness.

Not the kind of darkness of a midnight sky, but rather evil darkness that lives within mankind’s heart.

That darkness, labeled with such words as contempt, rage, pride, hate, malice, jealousy, distain, scorn, spite… that darkness can be replaced by accepting the radiant light of the Christmas baby, Christ.

Christ’s radiant light is meant to be shared, as a gift, with others. This gift removes evil darkness by replacing it with His light, light of respect, of joy, humility, love, benevolence, gratitude, affection, gracious, goodwill… His light removes all darkness, allowing for fellowship with Him and with those around us.

1 JOHN 1:5-7 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

The light that Jesus offers is not meant to be hidden. Just as Jesus shared His light with those who have ears to hear, believers are meant to, “radiate the light of Christ” to others. Radiate it to friends, family, and yes even strangers, in order for the darkness of this world to decrease.

ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?

Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”

  1. Hi Debra. There’s some misunderstanding out there regarding Mother Teresa, who you quoted at the top. Although she did some good charitable work, she also propagated the Roman Catholic false gospel of salvation by sacramental grace and merit.
You also referred readers to the Got Questions website which is an excellent evangelical resource. You may want to check out Got Questions’ article on Mother Teresa, link below:

    Thank you.

    • Thank you for reading this post and for your comment. I do like the Got Questions site and trust them. I have never read what the Got Questions wrote about Mother Teresa. She did do a magnificent job helping others in dire need. I do not know when the quote I posted was made, against when she indicated salvation by merit. I wonder when beliefs changed for her. But I do believe in her quote I posted.
