“As sinners, we can deceive ourselves, as well as the people around us, with what is truly in our hearts, but the Bible shows us who we actually are, judging our true beliefs. As we read, soak in, and apply its truths, Scripture performs spiritual open-heart surgery. Like a personal counselor, God’s Word can go straight to the source of our issues, connecting with and changing our actions, our thoughts, and even our very motives.”
– Randy Frazee, Think, Act, Be Like Jesus (2014)
God’s Word never changes.
God’s Word stands forever, remaining as truth yesterday, today, and tomorrow. No matter the situation in life or the date on the calendar – always – God’s Word is relevant.
Open up a Bible. They usually have a Concordance (index) in the back. Check it out. Look up words corresponding to your concerns.
In times of family trouble, financial hardship, or lingering illness, scripture is there to comfort, lead, and sustain your heart. There’s a multitude of verses in the Bible dealing with each of these topics.
And one has no reason to pretend happiness when bitterness or envy is truly on your heart. Read the Bible. Jesus will help you overcome that overwhelming negativity. He is there for you.
The Bible helps us overcome that evil which takes hold of our minds. Seek out verses on those negative topics you need help with. Read and study those verses. Write them down for reference. There are helpful messages in God’s word that He wants us to receive. Life messages. No doubt, one of those messages is exactly what you need to get through your situation.
Immerse yourself in the word. Hope is found there; along with peace, joy, and love.
God loves us enough that He gave up His only son, Jesus, and sent Him to earth. Jesus came to live by example, and share the goodness of God’s Word, then die and resurrect for all sin.
What blessings God’s word proclaims!
JAMES 1:21-25 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?
Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com.
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”
Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.
