“We, as Christians, will not be judged on how well we guessed the exact time of Christ’s coming but concerning the deeds we have done to build His Kingdom while He is not physically present. Regardless of when Jesus Christ comes again – and only the Father knows the time – Christians can not ignore their duty to “occupy till I come.” Who and whose ideas will govern our nation and its administration as well as our homes, churches, and schools? The Christian or the unbelievers? Will Biblical principles prevail only in our Christian homes, churches and missionary endeavors and not in the civil, economic, and cultural spheres of life in America? A knowledge of God’s hand in history assures us that God gives His people the time needed to accomplish what He has called them to do.”
– Marshall Foster, The American Covenant, The Untold Story (2021)
Jesus Christ, before His ascension – entrusted His disciples with a certain responsibility to accomplish – before His return.
We are to go and, “Preach the word”.
If believers don’t teach of Jesus, false doctrine will surely seep in. When Jesus walked among us in Israel He truly was The Word in the flesh. He stood as “the way, the truth, and the life.” He lived the life of God, preached it, and expected His followers to do likewise. Followers, not limited to the chosen Twelve, but future followers whom the Twelve proclaimed the word to as well. And so on, and so on.
Followers of every background, every race, every ethnicity, and both sexes. Jesus charged believers to proclaim the word to and through all countries, governments, businesses, schools, and churches. By doing so, sound doctrine – knowledge of the difference between morality and immorality – would be learned throughout the lands.
We are, “to build His Kingdom while He is not physically present”.
Jesus placed this charge upon His followers so that they may share Jesus’ glory, giving opportunity for others to turn from wicked ways and come fully to Christ.
Be prepared to share Jesus with those you come in contact with. Proclaim the word to others before nations fall to false doctrine.
2 TIMOTHY 4:1-5 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.
ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF JESUS?
Have you invited Jesus into your heart? Now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com.
“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen.”
Blessings to you as you receive redemption through Jesus.
