Cast Your Cares On The Lord

Cast your cares on the LORD.

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22

For those of us who have problems, (And who doesn’t!) this is a must believe, turn to verse. I have MS. I do not suffer with any of this disease’s erratic wretched symptoms: body pain, vision problems, loss of bladder control, weak legs, or dizziness. However, I have MS. So the fact that this disease is erratic, clearly means my body could change at any time. This unpredictable disease can quickly take away my  low-grade constant tingling partnered with mild numbness, and replace it with one of these more clearly undesirable, problematic manifestations.

Psalm 55:22 gives me truth I can lean into. God tells me He will sustain me; He will never let the righteous be shaken. Believing God is with me, gives me peace. God is not telling me no evil will ever wrack my body. He is telling me that whatever comes my way, He will not forsake me. He will  be here to give me strength – sustain me – to get through whatever turmoil my afflicted body may develop.

And I want that comfort. He said it to me, it is His Word, and I will remind Him of His Word. Whatever form of strength He decides to give me, I will take. Love and care from my family, strength through my diet,  support from my friends, or daily encouragement from reading more of His Word.

God not only offers Psalm 55:22, but God gives us promises throughout the entire sixty-six books in the Bible. In Isaiah 41:10, God tells us:

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

I am thankful God is always with me.

And in Romans 8:28, I am assured God works for my good:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who  have been called according to his purpose.

And this straightforward verse from Joshua, concisely tells me I am not alone:

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Whatever your problem is today, I encourage you to cast it on the LORD. Reread these verses and look through your Bible for more promises from Him.  God spoke them to us, and He will never go back on His word.
