How perfect that God created two sexes: man and woman. In His perfectness He created two separate yet complimentary beings of each other. Separate, yet one sex can not survive without the other sex; they belong together.
Genesis 1:27 So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
Both sexes are similar in basic physical attributes: arms, legs, ears, etc. But then God fine tuned each sex, appointing certain characteristics that make men men and women women. Man can not repopulate without woman the same as woman can not repopulate in the absence of man.
Feminists can scream all they want claiming the above statements aren’t true. As most remain silent while biological man competes against woman, dominating in female participation sports, or, while “men” claim to be pregnant. I find no reason to listen to false feminist arguments. Those who champion negating the beauty of childbirth from only a woman’s body are not celebrating woman. Pregnancy, a miracle, is God’s gift carried out solely by woman.
God made male and female different and those differences are special.
Genesis 2:7 Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
God formed man first, “from the dust of the ground”.
On average man is physically larger and stronger than woman. Through the ages man’s strength and stamina has protected and provided for woman and family. Some may say that type of primal trait isn’t necessary in today’s life. That in our techno age male strength over female strength isn’t necessary. Perhaps to a certain degree that may be true.
In the venue of technology male strength is not necessary over female strength. However, God knew strength would always be needed to navigate certain periods of life and I’m thankful for man’s strength as we face world disasters.
During disaster man is always on the front lines. Man after man engages in carrying injured bodies – large and small, out of burning buildings and over rubble, out of crushed cars, through flood watered streets, and under crumbled bridges.
Man loads cargo planes filled with boxes of supplies during times of need. Man carries weary citizens, unable to walk by themselves, onto trains, buses, and planes during war and natural catastrophes. I am thankful for the enduring strength and steadfast stamina God gives man.
Not to say no woman is capable of such feats. I’m sure there are some well qualified. But from the beginning, man was created with more muscle power than woman.
God formed woman after He formed man.
Genesis 2:22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
Woman was created from man’s rib; a place protected by his arm, a place close to his heart. Man acknowledged woman as being part of himself – a forever connection. Without man there would be no woman, yet, as now proclaimed by God, without woman there will be no man for He told them to, “Be fruitful and increase in number…”.
But woman has more responsibility than the use of her uterus. Woman is found to be more apt at communicational and emotional skills. And her innate nurturing instinct is the foundation that desires family life, the glue that holds and heals troublesome, chaotic, unhealthy and often sorrowful families together.
I’m not saying there is no overlapping between the two. Both man and woman are all individuals, making choices to suit situations…personal desires. But I am saying God created man, God created woman, each with specific traits that, since the beginning, they bring together when they unite in marriage as one. God created a perfect union, with both equally tasked to, “Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
God not only equally tasks, He also equally provides for man and woman, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it.”
But is the union of marriage our only choice in life? The apostle Paul was not married. Paul, writer of thirteen books of the New Testament, was single and praised its advantages. Marriage is not for everyone – but that is a separate topic.
Man and woman, their bodies precisely formed to embrace and unite as one. One created with fertilization and one created with seed, thus when brought together they multiply. There is no need for the human race to rewrite the definition of man and woman. God designed both perfectly, from man’s instinct to protect and provide to woman’s instinct to comfort and nurture.
Each made by God, in the image of God, which provides both have positions of honor and dignity, both are worthy, both equally tasked, and both saved by His mercy and grace.
Galatians 3: 28-29 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
