AMERICA – 7 Bible Verses God Pursues Us

Yes, God does pursue us. He created us because He wants to have a relationship with us. As mankind grew in numbers and expanded well beyond the Garden of Eden, we must still remember we were not created simply to accomplish great things and personally prosper. God creates us for His glory.

God creates us to praise and rely on Him for health, protection, understanding…for all things great and small relative to our lives. He creates us because He loves us just as He loved Adam and Eve.

And just as God never hid from the two people He first created, God never hides from the nations that grew from them. The Bible tells us it was man and women who hid from God after they ate the fruit He told them not to eat. But God went looking for them:

Genesis 3:8-9 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”

God created Adam and Eve to rely on Himself for all things. Through God’s love they were fruitful and multiple. The world soon was populated. Separate nations expanded around the globe. Leaders and governments were formed. But nations, just as man, need still rely on God. Nations, made up of countless men and women, should be no different than a single man and woman relying on God. Nations are still to place their faith and trust in God, not themselves as exemplified by Adam and Eve, in order to prosper.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

God pursues mankind individually but individuals make up governing bodies. We all know governments are complicated, continuously changing, but again, in all things mankind was created to glorify God. In case we forget or even ignore this Biblical truth–God continually pursues us to draw us back.

Ezekiel 34:11 “ ’For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.

The Bible tells us God pursues. He pursues individuals and all things individuals do which includes creating nations.

America, may we remember whose we are and draw ourselves closer to Him.

Psalm 23:6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Without God, America would be in chaos. We would continually turn on each other because we would have no idea what it means to love.

1 John 4:19 We love because he first loved us.

From the beginning in Eden, God’s love always pursued us and He continues to pursue us through the love of Jesus the Christ.

John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

The purpose and truth of Jesus coming to save mankind, and Biblical documentation of God through His story in history, are evidence God pursues us. God’s loves shines forth to us through His son Jesus whose purpose was to leave heaven to come to earth and die for us.

But the Good News is death could not hold Him!

Jesus, like His Father, pursues us. Scripture tells us He is ever present trying to reach us. All we have to do is say “Yes!”, I want You in my life and in a split second Jesus will reside in your heart and never leave you.

America, I encourage you to hear the voice of Jesus pursuing you. Let Him in so that we may enjoy that personal relationship God desires with all of us.

Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

If you’re not certain you’ve ever invited Jesus into your heart, now is the perfect time. Pray this sinner’s prayer found at Gotquestions.com. Through Jesus you will receive the strength and peace that He alone offers to help you through these troubled times.

“God, I know that I am a sinner. I know that I deserve the consequences of my sin. However, I am trusting in Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe that His death and resurrection provided for my forgiveness. I trust in Jesus and Jesus alone as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank you Lord, for saving me and forgiving me! Amen!”
